Chapter 2 : meeting the guys

Three guys came walking from wherever they came from

"ey mom" one of them said "who's the Neanderthal?" he asked

"This is Zoey!" "she's your new tentmate" Pendanski replied

"Zoey, what a feminine name" one of the others said

i rolled my eyes at that comment

"Zoey, meet Rex, Alan, and Theodore"

"hi" i said

"I'm X-ray , that's squid that's armpit" X-ray said pointing to them

"They all have their little nicknames, but i prefer to use the names their parents gave them , the names society will recognize them by" he explained

X-ray then rolled his eyes and looked up and down

Pendanski then peeked is head into the tent "You boys have a new tentmate, why don't you meet her?"

"Her?" i heard a spanish accent ask

Pendanski then led me into the tent and introduced me to all the guys

Ricky, Jose, and Zero were their names

"you settle in now, it should be no labor, be nice to your neighbor" Pendanski said

after he left i introduced myself

X-ray then told me all the nicknames

Zigzag, Magnet, and Zero is what they call him

"So which cot's mine?" i asked

"this one" said magnet , pointing to a cot between his and Zigzag's

"okay" i said , putting my stuff down on my cot and getting organized

after i got settled down i took out my messy bun and redid it

after i finished , zigzag sat next to me

"hey" he said

"hi?" i said

"So how'd you get sent here?"

"that's something for me to know and for you to wonder"

"so where are you from?"

"Minnesota"

"Wait, you weren't born in texas?" he asked

"Nope, we moved here because my mom got a good paying job here"

"Ohhh" he said

"Yeah"

then a loud trumpet blasted

"ACK!" i yelled , falling on the ground

all the guys snickered

"Jeez girl , its like you haven't heard a dinner bell before" Magnet said

"I haven't and- ew, what's with these floors?" i said "you should REALLY dust"

the guys rolled their eyes

then zigzag helped me up and we walked to the mess room

there wasn't any food , just disgusting sloop we had to choke down every night

i found my seat and sat down at the table

"so, what'd they get you for?" squid asked

"Attempted Vandalisim" i said

"Woah" he replied

"I guess" i said , poking at my food with my fork

" See ya guys " i said , getting up

"Nope" said zigzag, taking my arm and pulling it down

"Oh come on!" i said , hitting squids arm

"the only thing that's edible is the bread"

"Well you gotta eat something chica" Zigzag said

"fine" i said

i picked up my fork and ate some of the beans , they were disgusting

after we finished eating we all headed to the wreck room and just hung out for a little while

then we all headed back to our tents where i put up a homemade curtain and changed

i hopped in my cot and turned on my ipod

"what's tomorrow gonna be like?" i asked

"very different" answered zigzag

"how?"

"you'll see"

regardless i turned off my ipod and went to sleep
