The soft chime of an alarm pierced through the tranquil morning, pulling Ryu from the depths of sleep. He groaned, stretching his arms above his head, feeling the familiar weight of warmth beside him. He turned his head to find Rias, her crimson hair cascading over the pillow like a waterfall. The sight of her naked body made his heart race, but it was a sight he had grown used to over the years.

"Do you really need to go for a run?" Rias mumbled sleepily. "You know it's your duty to stay here as my personal pillow."

Ryu chuckled, his lips curling into a smile as he remembered how this had become a morning ritual. Ever since they had moved to the human world almost three years ago, Rias had taken to sneaking into his bed every night, blissfully oblivious to the chaos it initially caused in his heart. At first, he had nearly passed out the first time he found her there, but now, he didn't dare to fight her on it. Convincing her could be a daunting task when she set her mind to something.

"Just a quick run, Rias," he replied, his voice a warm whisper. "You know I need to keep up my training."

Rias groaned burying her face in the pillows. "But you're already strong! I need my pillow right here with me. You can run later!"

He laughed softly. "I promise I'll be quick. Besides, you'll have me back in no time."

Rias peeked at him through her tousled hair. "Fine. Just don't take too long," she said, her voice lightening. "I'll be waiting for you so we can go to school together."

Ryu swung his legs over the edge of the bed, feeling the cool wooden floor against his feet. He stood up, stretching his arms again. "I won't," he assured her, slipping into comfortable training clothes.

As he pulled on his t-shirt, he glanced back at her. Rias was propped up on her elbows, watching him with an expression that danced between admiration and affection. With one last look at her, he headed for the door. "See you in a bit."

"Don't keep me waiting!" she called out playfully, and as he stepped outside.

Ryu stepped outside feeling the cool morning air brushing against his skin as he closed the door of the clubhouse behind him. It was quiet and peaceful, something he had grown to appreciate during his early morning runs.

A deep, resonant voice echoed in his mind, cutting through the stillness. "The Gremory girl has you wrapped around her little finger; you know." The voice was both mocking and amused

Ryu rolled his eyes, not breaking his stride. "Good morning to you too, Astreus. Don't you have better things to do than comment on my personal life?"

Astreus, the spirit that lived on Ryu's head chuckled darkly. "Oh, I'm plenty entertained. But watching you moon over her without saying a word? It's a bit pathetic, don't you think?"

Ryu smirked. "You're one to talk. I seem to recall you being lonely until I awakened my powers . Haven't even had a real conversation with someone until I showed up."

The ancient spirit huffed. "Touche, boy. But unlike you, I wasn't content to dream about a woman while I had much bigger ambitions. Shouldn't you be focusing on more important events?"

"Important like what?" Ryu muttered under his breath as he augmented his pace. "I'm working on becoming stronger, aren't I? And besides," he added with a grin, "I need to beat the crap out of that guy first."

Astreus laughed. "Now, that's more like it!  You're driven, and together, we'll make our names echo across the cosmos and beyond. All of them will remember the power of Ryu, the Celestial of the Stars"

Ryu couldn't help but chuckle. "For a cosmic-looking deity, you sure have quite the sense of humor."

"You wound me," Astreus responded sarcastically. "Though, these past few years have been...interesting. To awaken after so long and finding someone with my heritage. I didn't expect much at first, but I must say, you've surprised me, Ryu. These four and a half years have been a wild ride."
