It had been a few days since Minho first noticed the shift in how he felt around Suhyun. Life at school carried on with its usual routines, but something had subtly changed—at least for him. No one else seemed to notice, but Minho found himself drawn to Suhyun more than ever.
In class, he would often glance over at her without meaning to. She'd be sitting by the window, her focus half on the teacher and half on whatever random doodle she was scribbling in her notebook. And when she laughed at something Felix or Hyunjin said, that carefree laugh that always echoed around the room, Minho couldn't help but smile a little.
It wasn't a big smile, more like the corner of his mouth lifting in response. But it was there.

Lunchtime was no different. The group was gathered at their usual table, with Jisung going off on one of his exaggerated stories, this time about almost getting caught sneaking snacks into class.
"I swear, I was like a ninja. Missed me by that much!" Jisung said, holding his fingers barely an inch apart. Hyunjin and Hyerin were cracking up, while Felix shook his head in disbelief.
Suhyun, sitting across from Minho, giggled at Jisung's antics, her eyes lighting up with amusement. "You're such an idiot, Jisung. No way you didn't get caught."
Minho, who had been listening to the conversation in silence, couldn't help but glance at Suhyun. Her laughter was infectious, and before he realized it, he was smiling again—just a small, private smile to himself. He didn't laugh out loud like the others, but the warmth was there, buried under his usual cool demeanor.
Suhyun didn't notice, of course. She was too busy teasing Jisung about his ridiculous story, and Felix was joining in on the fun.
"Next time, just bring the whole vending machine with you, Han Jisung," Felix quipped, causing another round of laughter.
Minho caught himself staring at Suhyun again as she tossed another fry into her mouth, still giggling. She didn't even notice him watching. For some reason, seeing her so carefree made him feel... different. It was almost like he enjoyed being around her, even if he'd never admit it out loud.
Felix leaned back in his chair, still grinning at Jisung's flustered reaction. "I can't believe you actually thought sneaking food into class was a good idea. Rookie mistake."
Suhyun nodded sagely, trying to keep a straight face. "Yeah, next time you need an expert, call me. I've been sneaking snacks in for years."
Minho scoffed, his usual sarcasm kicking in. "Please, Suhyun, we all know you'd get caught within five minutes. You're not exactly subtle."
Suhyun shot him a glare, but there was no real heat behind it. "Excuse you? I'm perfectly subtle! Unlike you, Mr. Fights-Everyone-All-The-Time."
Minho smirked. "At least I don't walk around like I own the place. You'd probably trip over your own feet if you tried to sneak anything."
"Rude," Suhyun muttered, though her lips were twitching, clearly amused. "I'm way more graceful than you."
The bickering continued, as it always did, but Minho noticed something different. He wasn't irritated like he used to be. In fact, part of him was enjoying the back-and-forth. He could see the glimmer of amusement in Suhyun's eyes, and it only made him want to keep the conversation going.
And still, no one seemed to notice the change in him. Not Felix, not Hyunjin, not even Suhyun herself.

In the following days, the same pattern repeated itself. During class, Minho would glance over at Suhyun more often than he cared to admit. Sometimes she'd be whispering to Hyunjin about something, and Minho would catch her trying to stifle a laugh. Other times, she'd be doodling absentmindedly while the teacher droned on about history.
It was in those quiet moments, when the classroom was still and everyone was focused on their work, that Minho found himself just... watching her. Her hair would fall into her face sometimes, and she'd brush it back without thinking. Or she'd bite her lip in concentration while writing, a habit Minho had only recently noticed.
It was strange. He'd known her for years, but it was like he was seeing her in a new light.
But of course, he didn't say anything. He couldn't. Not yet.
