"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" Nicole's alarm clock screeched, a reminder that it was indeed morning.

"Ow!" Nicole groaned, rubbing her head. An egg-sized lump was immediately forming. She groped her nightstand for her glasses, and then got her phone.

"Hello?" Nicole asked groggily.

"I'm just as tired as you are," the voice responded at the other end of the phone.

"Kayla? What are you doing calling me at-" Nicole looked at her digital clock, "7:00 in the morning? Really? You could have called me a little later to go to the community hall?"

"Alright, alright, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. Vera called me as well, it was a pain. I love the girl, but, she... oh my gosh," Kayla said.

"What's the point you're trying to get to?" Nicole asked, annoyed.

"Yeah, yeah. Vera wants us all to meet there at 12:00. Do you think you could manage that time?" Kayla asked.

Nicole waved her hand downwards as if her friend could see it. "Seeing as I'm awake now

The raven-haired girl sighed and ran her fingers through her long hair. This was going to be a long day, and she could already tell. Nicole willingly got out of her room and rose the shutters in her room up, exposing her messy blue bedding and purple and white chevron pillows askew all over her room. She covered her eyes from the sunlight and trudged to her bathroom, where she washed her face and brushed her teeth. Nicole went downstairs to eat some cereal, only to discover that it was 9:00.

What should I do? I still have 3 hours until I have to go. Nicole thought. I might as well take a shower and read for some time.

Her shoes made a tap-tap noise as she went down the stairs. Nicole's books were laid everywhere. She picked up Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever and started to read. Just as she was about to open the book, an Unknown ID appeared on her phone.

"Hello?" Nicole asked. No one answered. "Hello?" Nicole tried again. No one answered once again. Nicole started to tire of the childnessless of the caller, only for a voice to speak.

"Hello Miss Nicole. I just wanted to call to warn you to stay away from the crime scene, or there will be consequences," the voice, sounding masculine said.

Nicole fumed on the other end of the phone. "Who is this? Tell me now!" she barked.

"All I am telling you is stay away. Or you will pay the consequences," it replied.

Nicole was on the verge of screaming. She scowled inwardly and frowned at the phone.

"Listen you. I don't know who you are or what your motive is, but I am going to that crime scene. I will find out what happened to my friends and I will go to that crime scene and solve this mystery with my friends whether you like it or not," Nicole whisper-yelled into her phone.

"My, my, we have a feisty one here. I guess you're not like people say," the voice replied, chuckling.

Nicole shuddered. "What are you, a stalker?"

"No, just someone who lives in Orchid Fields who knows very well. You might even say that I see you most of the time, you just don't recognize me. Stay away from the crime scene, or there will be hell to pay," the voice said gruffly, giving the familiar -click- of the phone, signaling that the strange man was done with the conversation.

Nicole blew her troublesome yet pretty hair out of her face and thought for some time. It was 10:30. She sighed.

Who was that person? Nicole thought. And why did he seem to adamant about not letting us go to the crime scene? Did this person maybe have something to do with the whole shenanigan?
