Hope had sat up through the night only to be disappointed that Josie didn't visit her again. She hopes it wasn't just a dream. If it was, how could her mind betray her like that. It's still the early hours of the morning and she needs to get out of this room, the infirmary is just white and has hospital smells that irritates Hope's enhanced smell. She decides to get up and go for a run, before anyone else gets up and notices she's gone.
She takes the hospital gown off and grabs some clothes to wear from the closet in the infirmary. As she walks her muscles are still very stiff and sore from the lack of movement during desiccation. She pushes through the pain knowing a good run will do wonders. She sneaks out, unseen, unheard.
She changes to her wolf form, she can feel the pain go away as she runs through the forest as fast as she can. She feels the ground under her paws and feels her fur flying with the speed she's going. She runs for hours, pushing her body to the limits, her heart racing dangerously. Until she comes across the graveyard. It is still on School grounds, but the school can't be seen from here, whoever chose this area for a graveyard wanted privacy. No one would know this is here. It's entrance is an arch made of old wrought iron, it's been bent into beautiful intricate patterns, you walk through it and all you see are mostly old plots with ornate statues. It spans a distance but overall it's not too big.
Even in wolf form, Hope shivers as she walks through it, she changes back to her human form, she doesn't need to dress anymore, a spell she created automatically changes her into clothes when she transitions back. Her eyes focus on a freshly dug up grave, tears come instantly. She walks over to it and there's a bench seat she sits down on. The tombstone is simple, it just has Josette Saltzman, loved daughter, loved sister. May she rest in peace. That's all apart from a bunch of sunflowers at the top. She buries her head in her hands and lets her tears flow, sobbing. She can't put her usual mask on here and she doesn't have to.
"You should still be in the infirmary." a concerned voice breaks through her cries.
Hope sighs in relief. "You came back, I thought I might be going crazy and you were a figment of my imagination."
"For as long as I can, I'll be here with you, you can count on that Hope.'
"I look at your tombstone and I feel so guilty Jo, it should be me buried there, not you. You don't deserve to be gone, you should never have died because of me." she bows her head down to the ground, unable to look at Josie. Her heart tearing to pieces.
"You're wrong Hope, it shouldn't be either of us buried here, please don't punish yourself for this, none of this is your fault either. It just comes down to a bad decision dad made sending me the sword. You knew nothing about it. I'm just sorry I couldn't protect the sword and now Aurora has it."
"Aurora". Anger takes over Hope's face, "was it Aurora that did this to you?"
"Yes, and you must be careful, she will be coming for you and she won't stop until she kills you." Josie warns
"Then let her kill me, at least i'll be with you again"
"I don't want you to say that Hope, as much as I love you and miss you, I want you to live your life. You'll be needed here, I can feel something evil is coming and I don't think it's just Aurora. Whoever or whatever it is is dark, and powerful, unlike anyone or anything you've fought before. You have to get yourself strong again to defeat it. Please keep fighting and then one day we'll be together again, but I don't want you putting yourself at risk for that to happen sooner. I'll be waiting when it's meant to be."
"I'm going to rip her heart out and hang her from the clock tower for killing you !"
"She wasn't alone Hope, she needed a powerful witch to break through my boundary and protection spells. She had the help of......................"
