POV: Bas
After lunch with his brother Bas, Bible planned to crash at the apartment for a nap before hanging out with his friends that evening, like he usually did.
"I promise I won't bother you, brother. Can I stay for a bit so the old man can have his peace?" Bible asked, giving Bas his best puppy-dog eyes.
"Fine, but only until Friday," Bas relented.
"Why, what's happening this weekend? Getting cozy with your fiiian-cééé?" Bible teased with a mocking tone.
Bas flicked his finger at Bible's forehead. "None of your business. Just listen to me for once."
"Okay, okay, I'll be out by the weekend," Bible laughed. "You're the best," he added, pulling his brother into a quick hug.
Bas just shook his head as he watched Bible hop on his bike and speed off. "That little brat," he muttered with a small smile.
Just as Bas was watching his brother leave, his phone rang. The caller ID flashed 'Fuaiz'—his new assistant of just a month. A familiar shudder ran through him as he picked up.
"Sir, where are you? The meeting started ten minutes ago," came the rushed voice of a young man, smooth and sharp.
"I'm on my way in, just outside the building," Bas replied shortly before hanging up and hurrying inside.

As the meeting ended and everyone left the room, Bas stood up and gazed out of the tall windows, overlooking the city.
"Sir, how did the meeting go?" Fuaiz's soft voice broke the silence, and suddenly a faint honey scent filled Bas's nose. He closed his eyes, taking a quiet breath.
"Honey..." he murmured in a quiet sigh, momentarily lost in thought.
"Sir? What did you say?" Fuaiz asked, confused, as he discreetly sniffed his shirt.
Bas snapped out of his thoughts and turned to face Fuaiz. "Nothing. Just... add some more scent blockers. I think they aren't working. We can't have others being affected," he said in a low, slightly commanding tone.
Fuaiz nodded, blushing slightly. "I just applied it a minute ago... strange that you can still smell me." With that, he hurried out of the room.
Bas rushed back to his office, quickly reaching for his pills. Every time he saw Fuaiz, that sweet honey scent and his innocent look made Bas's Alpha heart race. Fuaiz had only been working for him part-time for a month, but ever since their first encounter, Bas had been struggling to control himself. The moment he first caught the younger Omega's scent, it sent him into a rut—a full week of torment. He'd had to take time off just to deal with it.
Fuaiz used scent blockers, Bas knew that. No one else seemed to notice the honeyed fragrance clinging to him. But Bas could still smell it, and it was driving him crazy. He was addicted—obsessed, even—to the point where he couldn't stop thinking about Fuaiz, especially during his rut. His thoughts became anything but holy, and the shame of it only hit him after the rut had passed.
That morning after, Bas would think about transferring Fuaiz to another department or firing him altogether. But the moment Fuaiz walked in, all smiles and bright eyes, Bas couldn't bring himself to do it. The thought of Fuaiz working for another Alpha, someone who could smell him and might take advantage of him, made Bas's blood boil.
No. It was better that Fuaiz worked for him. He'd just have to bear it and keep his Alpha instincts under control.
As the eldest son of the Wichapas family, Bas was responsible for taking over the company. His father had raised him strictly, as a devout Christian, and instilled in him a sense of duty and discipline. Unlike most Alphas, Bas had never been particularly driven by his instincts—his ruts were rare, and he was known for his self-control.
