Egos: Glitchtrap, Robbie, Dr Schneeplestein
TW: Death
Henrik ran after his son, his face pale with worry.
'ROBBIE! DON'T LEAVE ZE VILLAGE!' He practically screamed as he ran through the medieval street. Robbie, meanwhile, didn't have a care in the world and was giggling as he got near to the village limits, where a dark forest surrounded the area.
But, as his feet were about to make contact with the burnt grass of the forest, his father caught up to him and quickly scooped him up.
'Vhat are you thinking?!' he snapped, anger evident on his face as he carried the child back into the safety of their village.
Robbie's happiness vanished as his father yelled, his expression changing to confusion then sadness and his lower lip quivered, 'I wanna go out there' he whined.
Henrik rolled his eyes, adjusting his thick rimmed glasses with his free hand, 'no we can't. I've already told you: there are monsters out there and it's dangerous!' he snapped, walking them back to the building that served as the village's doctor office.
Robbie blinked at him then pouted, crossing his arms as he let the doctor carry him. Yes, his father worked as a doctor, but Robbie always wanted to be a knight and defeat the creatures that kept them trapped in the same land that they called home. He'd watch the blacksmith make the weapons and horses trotting by, ready for battle from the front window of the office, a look of awe on his face every time. However, Henrik had been horrified when the child had told him this and immediately forbad him from ever going into the forest or becoming a knight. He had told his son that it was for his own safety, but Robbie thought it was all cowardly.
But he had figured out a plan. He was going to sneak into the Blacksmith's den at nightfall.

As he watched the sun set from his bedroom window, his heart started racing, with excitement and nervousness. Now that night was falling, he was questioning whether it was right for him to sneak out, but he shook his head, pushing the doubts away.
He had made his decision.
Thankfully, his father was not only a snoring sleeper but a heavy one too, and he was able to get out into the street easily, carrying a small bag of food and his brown teddy bear. Once outside, he adjusted his poncho and immediately headed to the blacksmith's den, his eyes brightening as he got closer to it-
'Hey'
Robbie stopped at the edge of the den and frowned as he heard a whisper. He looked round but couldn't see anyone.
'Over here!'
At this, Robbie snapped his head towards the edge of the forest and tilted his head: there were two pink jewels floating in the air, just past the first line of trees.
'There we go. I heard ya wanted to venture out on your own?'
The child blinked, taking a few steps towards the woods; the voice sounded gentle and friendly, and his own curiosity grew. He knew that creatures lived out there, but he'd never actually encountered one, let alone knew they could talk!
'Uh huh. But my father says I can't; he says it's bad out there'
There was a pause, before the voice continued, this time sounding sympathetic, 'Oh, it's not all bad. The land also has fluffy foxes and cute little rabbits. Would you like to see them?'
Robbie took another step forward, but hesitated: was this really a good idea? He looked behind him, unsure, then looked back to the woods as he heard rustling...and his mind was made up with what he saw.
From out of the darkness, a large fluffy yellow paw had appeared, outstretched. It looked like it had had claws at one point, but they were now blunted into stubs. Seeing this, Robbie's face brightened, and he ran to the paw, giggling, before gently poking its palm. The hand curled up before slinking back into the darkness.
Robbie watched it disappear before looking up and round: the two jewels had even vanished.
'Hello? Friend?' he quietly called out before walking into the forest. As he got past the first line of trees, he realized how dark it was and started to feel nervous, 'Friend?' he squeaked, now unsure.
But the thing responded: loud thuds could be heard as it got closer and closer. Robbie stood still and waited and yet, he was confused as to how he hadn't heard any noise from this thing when he was outside of the trees. His nervousness didn't vanish as he saw what had called to him: a huge rabbit-like creature was approaching him, its dark yellow fur all mangled and dirty. One of its ears was ripped off, and thick black stitches ran across its back legs and round tummy. While its back paws resembled that of a rabbit, its front paws were more humanoid; they were thin and lanky and didn't look like they would hold this thing's weight.
Robbie was tiny in comparison to this creature. He looked up to meet its eyes, which were just pink jewels embedded into its skull, with dried blood sprinkled round the edges of the stones. Then he saw its rows and rows of glowing pink sharp teeth that were in its smiling mouth, and he whimpered. He couldn't move; he was too scared to.
'You're not little-'
The creature didn't let Robbie finish his sentence, as it snarled and immediately slammed down onto the ground with its mouth wide open. Dirt, stones and Robbie were all collected up by the thing's jaws, and it made quick work of its little meal, before growling and hopping away, further into the dark forest. All that was left behind was the bag of food and the teddy bear.
