Chapter 4: Explain This Future

Shadow's POV:

I woke up to Y/N wrapping her arms around my waist. I don't know why she was so close to me, but it felt good for some reason. Hmph. I got out of bed and planned to get ready.

It seemed like she was fast asleep... but I didn't want to disturb her. I tried to leave the room, but my footsteps were enough to wake her. Seemed like she was unconscious.. oh well.

Y/N'S POV:

I woke up and it seemed that Shadow was leaving my room. I got up from my bed, and tugged on Shadow's hand.

"Why did you sleep with me?" I scratched my head, confused and blushing slightly, without knowing.

"I... Leave me alone. I don't associate with humans." Shadow walked away, and took a quick glance at me and ran off.

I never know what he's thinking... I got up from my bed, took a shower at the one near my bedroom, and got ready for myself. I put on my black shirt and pants, and left my room.

I noticed that Shadow was sitting on the couch, staring at the ground..

"Shadow?" I sat down with him, and held his hand.

His hand felt so good and soft. It felt nice to hold... but Shadow didn't feel good with it, or so it seemed.

"Oh.. yes. We should be on our way to find the first chaos emerald." Shadow got up from his seat, and let go of my hand slowly, taking no acknowledgement of my intimacy.

"Alright.. Wait, what? Chaos emerald? We're finding them?" I continued to ask questions, spinning around confusingly and shivering nervously at the fact of finding them.

"Yeah.. I didn't tell you?" Shadow crossed his arms, frowning.

"YOU NEVER TOLD ME!" What's all this about finding the chaos emeralds? Do I need to help him find any? How will I do this? I sighed, putting my head in my hands.

"Okay okay... So since you have powers of a chaos emerald..." Shadow explained, folding his arms; "It seems that you can't really get the energy back inside the emerald... So, we need to get all of the chaos emeralds and try to transfer some chaos energy in order to bring the emerald back." Shadow said, slightly nodding his head and glancing at me.

"Alright... So I have to get all of these chaos emeralds to bring it back?" I smiled, understanding his explanation. "So...what do I get in return for all of this?" I crossed my arms, frowning.

"You're 'precious' life will be spared." Shadow aimed a gun at my head, lowered it, and walked away.

"Now hurry up, we've got to find that damn chaos emerald." Shadow grabbed my hand, as we sped out of the house briefly, and ran out.

"So where is that first chaos emerald located?" I scratched my head curiously, looking around my surroundings.

"I'm not so sure.. but there's this guy called Eggman. And it's located in one of his-" Shadow paused, while I put my hand to his mouth.

"Yeah yeah, I know who he is. He took my dad. I assume it's located in his lab that's powering it for his tech?" I crossed my arms, staring at Shadow's bright eyes.

"How'd you...." Shadow gasped quietly, sighing and pushing me away.

"It's a long story....anyways, so this Eggman guy... where is the lab of his?" I grinned, smiling at him with confidence.

"It's around here. Come on, we don't have time. Lets go." He grabbed my hand as we started to look for Eggman's lab.
