"Have you seen this person?" A man in white robe asked around the street as he brought a painted drawing of a person.
The passerby, who was asked, took a look at the painting before he shook his head in negative. "Have never seen him."
The passerby was about to walk away when the man stopped him again.
"Just look at this face again! Maybe, you have seen him somewhere!" The man's tone was filled with urgency.
"Sorry, sir. I really haven't seen him." Then, he quickly walked away. As he walked, he sighed and muttered, "a good looking man and yet, so sad."
The man didn't stop at just one passerby. He kept showing the painting and asking the people on the street. But, all those people kept shaking their heads and walked away, leaving the man in a helpless state.
His good looking face was haggard, stubbles and moustache grew on that once flawless handsome face. And those once sharp eyes were almost empty and red with bloodshot.
He kept asking around and only stopped when it was night and no more people walking on the street. Heading back to his rented room in an inn, he sat down on the chair, his head rested on the back of the chair.
"...Ah Xu, where are you?"
The man was a former Ghost Leader from Fengya Mountain, soulmate of Zhou Zishu. The missing man in the painting.
Lifting the painting, Wen Kexing traced every line on that drawing in almost obsessed manner. His Ah Xu... Where did he go?
Suddenly, sadness was gone and changed to anger.
He immediately tore apart the drawing in rage. However, once he tore until tiny pieces did he realise what he had done and went into a panic mode.
"Ah, no, no, no... Ah Xu, I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to tear it... Please forgive me!"
He picked up all the pieces and tried to put it together back as he muttered words of "sorry" and "Ah Xu" repeatedly. He was almost lost himself and now, he didn't look good. He might as well had gone crazy.
Ah Xiang was right, only when he was with Zhou Zishu did he appear more human.
And now, that Zhou Zishu had gone from his life... Wen Kexing felt like killing, destroying and damned the whole world.
However...
Now, he had Chen Ling, Four Seasons Manor's fellow disciples, Ye Baiyi, Qi Ye and Da Wu... Even if he wanted to destroy, he couldn't. Not when others lived in this world.
But, a world without Zhou Zishu...
Was not worth it.
"Ah Xu, where are you? Why did you leave me? You said you loved me and yet, why did you go?"
Wen Kexing reached inside the lapels of his robes and took out an envelope. Inside was a piece of white yellowish paper. From the look of the paper, it was worn out by how much a person had been reading it.
Slowly, he traced the words on the paper carefully. One by one. Eight characters.
對不起。我愛你。再見。[1]
Holding the paper closed to his heart, Wen Kexing stared at the tore drawing that he had tried to assemble on the table. "Ah Xu... Zhou Zishu... My dear Ah Xu..." His beautiful Ah Xu, where did he go?
That day Zhou Zishu went missing, Wen Kexing almost lost his mind. He didn't move from where he sat on the floor in the bedroom for a whole three days, staring at the letter left by Zhou Zishu. Only at the fourth day, then, he moved and brought all of his belonging leaving the rented manor.
