🌸Chapter 5: The Star Festival

It was a few days after Itachi's birthday when Nagato told Sakura they were staying for the star festival instead of leaving the next day as planned.

"We're staying longer?" Sakura asked in surprise as she poked her head out from the bathroom.

Nagato laughed at her and smiled. "Yeah," he answered. "I figured since there is a festival only a couple weeks away that it would be nice to have an extended vacation."

Sakura frowned as she threw her hair up in a messy bun.

"What about the hospital?" she asked as she shrugged on a random shirt from her closet.

"Already sent out a message to Ame," he answered again as he laid on the bed watching her get ready. "Konan and Yahiko are going back to Ame but will be back for the festival with Takaru in tow."

Sakura smiled softly as she looked at Nagato. It was always a surprise with him, but she never really minded.

"I guess it's time to go shopping then," Sakura muttered to herself as she looked at her old clothes. Her old kimono didn't quite fit anymore, as she had grown a considerable amount since a few years ago. The poor thing was a few centimeters too short on the sleeves now and she knew it wouldn't fit the same as it did.

"I could help with that," Nagato said.

Sakura looked towards his voice to find him standing behind her. She hadn't even heard him move and she was reminded of her first few days in the old Akatsuki building and her mental note to remember he was so quiet for his height and build.

"You still haven't lost your touch," she said as she smiled at him.

He had no idea what she was talking about but smiled anyways. He still couldn't help but smile when she did.

"So, you guys are staying a little longer?" Hinata asked as she tried to get clothes on a struggling Boruto.

Sakura laughed at Hinata's struggling and nodded as she happily helped the woman with the troublesome little one.

"Nagato sprung it on me this morning," Sakura said as she tickled a now clothed and giggling Boruto. "I'm guessing it's because we don't have much to do at Ame right now other than work."

Hinata smiled and nodded as her hands absentmindedly rubbed her baby bump. Sakura noticed and paused in the attention she was giving the toddler and smiled softly.

"When are you guys due?" she asked the noirette.

Hinata smiled brighter as a blush crossed her face as Sakura said "you guys". "I can't remember right now," she laughed.

Sakura smiled and rubbed her own belly. "I never thought about kids, to be honest."

Hinata tilted her head and patted Sakura's shoulder.

"I think you'd be great as a mother," Hinata said to the pinkette with confidence.

Sakura blushed at the thought and smiled brightly as she nodded in agreement. It was then Naruto came into the house, smiling brightly at the two women.

"Hello ladies!" he said enthusiastically then held his arms out for little Boruto. "And my little man!"

Boruto reached out gladly for his dad and Sakura laughed as the boy clung to Naruto.

"What are you girls talking about here?" Naruto asked. "Hopefully you're discussing me and my awesomeness!"

Both women laughed and shook their heads at the blonde man. All grown up, and Naruto was still the same old Naruto.
