Locked Baby: ItaNaru

Naruto and Itachi headed to their car parked in the parking lot after shopping for groceries. Naruto carried their one year old son Shoyo in his arms while Itachi had the grocery bags.

Naruto reached for the car door but Itachi opened it for him. "Let me get it" he said opening the door for his husband.

"Thanks" Naruto said. He was about to put his baby inside, and sit him on his baby seat when he stopped and turned to his husband. "Actually maybe you should do it"

"Why?"

"I-i don't want to bump his head against the door by accident" Naruto said regrettably. "Or pinch him with the seatbelt"

Itachi  sighed. "Naruto how long are you going to beat yourself up over one mistake?"

Naruto bites his lip as he looks down at the infant in his arms. "I just, I think I suck at being a parent"

Itachi looked confused. "What? How could you say that? We're new at being parents Naruto". The blonde shook his head and released a heavy sigh, he's been  holding this in for too long. "Yeah but you're such a natural!"

"How come?" Itachi asked crossing his arms. "You walk into the room and Shoyo lights up, you change his diaper with one hand, I actually jealous of you" Naruto revealed looking ashamed and embarrassed. Itachi couldn't believe this. Did...did his husband really feel this way?

"There are so many things that you do that I can't" Itachi said. "You baby proofed the entire house, you're the first one to wake up the minute he starts crying in the middle of the night"

"My ears are sensitive" Naruto said with a small smile.

"And you got Shoyo in all those preschool waiting lists" Itachi added.

"It was your mom's idea"

"This is what makes us a great team Naruto, this is what makes us perfect for each other, we each have our own strengths"

This caused Naruto to smile brighter. "Thanks Itachi" he kissed his husband on the lips and placed their baby inside, buckling him up and slamming the car door shut.

Itachi reached for the door for the driver's seat but froze when it wouldn't open.

Naruto tried opening the other door but it wouldn't budge.

Itachi and Naruto looked at each other.

"Did we just lock our baby in the car?" Naruto asked blinking.

"Did you put the keys in the bag?"

"I put the keys in the bag"

"Naruto I told you not to put the keys in the bag!"

"Don't freak out! Don't freak out!"

The two parents pressed themselves against the car door and tapped on the window trying to get their baby's attention. Both felt panicked and alarmed and were doing their best to keep calm. "Shoyo it's okay! We're not-" Naruto started singing the ABC, tears in his eyes.

"What are you-- singing to him? People get arrested for this Naruto!" Itachi snapped

"Just keep calm alright?!"

Itachi ran around the car trying to see if the other doors could be opened. Naruto continued to sing the ABC to his baby. "Are all doors locked?!" Itachi half yelled.

"Phone phone phone!" Naruto muttered searching his trouser pockets.

Itachi pulled out his phone and dialed the emergency services. Naruto stopped trying to calm down and ran off to find something he could use to break the door open. "I'M BREAKING THE WINDOW!" he yelled picking up a metal trash can.

"119 how may I assist you?"

"We-- we locked our baby in the car! And people are judging us" Itachi said, panting heavily.

"I SWEAR TO GOD I'M GONNA BREAK IT!" Naruto screams

Itachi's eyes widened. "Naruto do NOT break the window you'll get glass on him!" He yelled

"Sir please tell your wife to relax, everything is going to be okay"

"That's a man"

"Really?" The operator was surprised because from how high the screaming was she assumed it was a woman

"DON'T WORRY SHOYO! DADDY'S COMING FOR YOU!" Naruto screamed about to bash the trash can against the window.

"Sir we just sent the signal, the door should be unlocked"

"Check the door" Itachi said, sweating profusely. Naruto dropped the trash can and tried to open the door. "IT'S NOT UNLOCK-" he pulled harder and the door swung open.

Naruto and Itachi breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, that is amazing" Naruto said hugging their baby. "How did they do that?"

"I don't know" Itachi said.

"Did it come from space?"

"We got it, thank you" Itachi said to the operator.
