*Evil smile*
....
My grandma had suddenly fallen ill and was hospitalized so, my parents had to go back to our country home for this might be their last visit to her.
Even I wished to go back with them, but Maa forbade me to do so saying there might be emergencies in the hospital and the final results were going to be out pretty sooner. So, I kept myself from going back.
I kept checking on my grandma's condition over phone from Pa, and my worry subsided a little when I heard that her condition developed much than before.
"She is better than before, but we still need to be here for her, you know." Pa stated in a low voice.
"I know, Pa. Take care of her and yourselves too. Call me if necessary. I will be there." I assured him.
Letting out a small sigh, he spoke, "We can't be there for your birthday this year, Esha. Celebrate with your friends and don't worry about grandma too much, we are here for her and also, she is better than before. Take care, my daughter."
The fact that I won't be able to be with my parents on my birthday saddened me a bit, but I know how important it is for them to stay there for grandma. There will be many other birthdays I get to spend with them, but staying with grandma is necessary.
Abhi and Sana are here to accompany me tomorrow and that's enough.
I went to sleep earlier cause Abhi said he had the next day totally planned for us.
Waking up the next day, I quickly did my morning routine and had a long shower before wearing a white flowy dress Abhi gifted me on my last birthday.
The dress is just the way I like, adorned with tiny floral motifs of pastel shades and the puff sleeves were nothing but cherry on the top. Abhi told that we would be going only in the evening. So having my makeup done right now would be useless. I just applied some blush to give my cheeks a rosy tint and a lip gloss to enhance my look.
"That's enough, Abhi's princess." My subconscious mocked at me.
I giggled and went out of my room before having a final look at myself.
My eyes were blessed with the view of Abhi working in the kitchen, probably preparing something special, who knows?
I walked nearer to him without making any sound to tiptoe and see what he is doing. Just when I was behind him and was about to peek, he called out, "You came out of your room just in time, Esha."
So, he knows! Already! Hmph!
And he turned around with a cake in his hand.
"How did you know about my presence?" My eyebrows arched up and I cast a questioning look on him.
"I just know it, love." His gaze turned softer than before followed by a gentle grin. I smiled to myself hearing his reply.
"This is what I was doing, princess. You wanted to have a look, didn't you?" Tilting his head, he looked at me amused.
I nodded with mock sadness for my failed attempt and kept standing there until I heard him saying, "Isn't this the dress I gifted you last year?" He paused and I nodded in agreement.
