Chase's POV

The night air was cold, but the storm in my mind made it feel even colder. I was standing just outside the control room, trying to pull myself together after everything that had happened. My heart was racing, worry eating me alive, and I could feel the pressure building. Skye was out there, alone and undercover, and I couldn't stop thinking about the risks she was facing.

I leaned against the wall, staring into the darkness. Marshall stood beside me, his expression serious for once. "Hey," he said softly, nudging my side. "I know you're worried, but she's strong, Chase. Skye can handle herself."

"I know," I muttered, my voice tense. "But what if something goes wrong? What if—"

Marshall cut me off, his tone uncharacteristically sharp. "Stop thinking like that, Chase. You're going to drive yourself crazy. Skye's smart, and she's trained for this. You just have to trust her."

I wanted to believe him, but the knot in my stomach refused to loosen. "But Marshall... if something happens to her—"

"Then we'll deal with it," he said, his voice firm. "But don't break down before anything has even gone wrong. Skye wouldn't want that. You're her partner, right? You have to stay strong for her."

I nodded, trying to steady my breathing. He was right. Skye needed me to trust her, but it was hard when every instinct I had screamed to go after her, to make sure she was safe.

Suddenly, the control room door burst open, and Ryder rushed out, his expression tense. "Chase! Marshall! We just got a call for backup from Skye."

My heart nearly stopped. "What? Is she okay?"

"She sent a distress signal, but..." Ryder hesitated, glancing down at the tablet in his hands. "Her GPS signal went offline right after the call. We don't know her exact location anymore."

Panic surged through me. The worst-case scenarios flooded my mind. What if she's been hurt? What if we're too late?

I took a deep breath, forcing myself to stay calm. "Ryder, we can't wait. We need to raid the building now."

Ryder looked at me, his eyes filled with concern. "Chase, we need to be careful. If we rush in, we could blow the entire operation."

"I don't care," I snapped, my voice shaking with urgency. "Skye's in danger. We can't leave her out there alone. Please, Ryder—give me permission to lead the raid."

Ryder hesitated for a moment, weighing the decision. I could see the conflict in his eyes, but he knew as well as I did that time was running out. Finally, he nodded. "Alright, Chase. You're right. We can't take any chances. Gather the team—we're launching the raid."

Relief and determination flooded through me at the same time. "Thank you, Ryder. I won't let you down."

I turned to Marshall, who was already nodding, his eyes blazing with the same determination I felt. "Let's do this," he said, his usual playful tone replaced with a fierce intensity.

We both rushed inside, where the rest of the team was already gearing up. Each pup suited up in their police uniform, the tension in the air palpable. This wasn't just another mission—this was a rescue operation, and we were going in with everything we had.

As we finished gearing up, I grabbed Ryder's pup pad and dialed 911. The line clicked, and I quickly explained the situation. "This is Officer Chase from the Adventure Bay Police Force. We're preparing to launch a raid on a facility involved in a dognapping case. We need SWAT backup, ASAP."

The dispatcher on the other end paused for a moment before responding. "Officer Chase, SWAT will be dispatched to your location. Please provide the address."
