First Love

Chapter two

Leia's POV:

As I walked to the doors of the school from my limo, I saw a guy looking at Nicolette, Luke and me intently.

I looked back at him, because that usually makes the starer look away. But this guy instead smiled at me. At a glance as I walked into school, I could mainly tell that this guy was really good-looking.

I vaguely registered his face as I walked on, seeing Stacey and Luke's best friend, Michael Williamson. The wind tousled the ash brown mop on Michael's head as he walked towards me.

"Hi, Leia," Michael greeted me in his slight British accent. He'd been a British exchange student, but then he decided to stay for good.

"Hey Michael! My brother's over there with... her," I replied.

"Uh, not if I can help it," he said. No one, not even Luke's best friend likes Nicolette. She's just so disagreeable. At least she has to be civil with me, Stacey and Michael.

Michael strolled to Luke and Nicolette. He fist bumps Luke, effectively pulling him from the Hag. I smiled. Michael was just awesome that way.

Then Stacey and I joined the little party and the Hag felt sort of left out, so she finally left us in peace. Good grief. What about her does Luke like?

Stacey and I had gotten a few of the same periods. Firstly, our first period was the same. That was Literature.

After Mrs Simmons, an aging and totally strict teacher, took attendance, a new student knocked on the door.

"Is this Literature?" he asked. His voice was deep. And he was tall. He was lanky and lean.

I soon realised that this was my earlier 'stalker'. He was even cuter up front.

"Yes, I was told to expect a new student. Please, come in. Introduce yourself young man," she said somewhat impatiently.

"Hi everyone. I'm Haydn. Haydn Waldorf. Nice to meet you all," he said politely. Clearly an act. Nobody spoke like that in LA in the 21st Century. Right?

Mrs Simmons gestured Haydn to the seat behind mine. As he went to sit down, he winked a hazel eye at me.

I noticed a lock of his brown hair cover his eye. I noticed a dimple on his cheek when he flashed a smile.

"Hey," he said. My hands began to get all gross and clammy.

Then Mrs Simmons had to ruin it for me. "Mr Waldorf, you may continue that fascinating conversation with Miss Evans once I am done teaching. In the meantime, I expect you to listen to me. Understood?"

Haydn laughed quietly under his breath. Nodding at Mrs Simmons, he told her respectfully, "Yes, Mrs Simmons, I apologise for my incompetence. It won't happen again." He was good at this.

She seemed impressed by his goody two shoes reply, because she went on how we should learn from 'Mr Waldorf' in his ways of respect.

Literature was going to be fun this semester. Haydn was hilarious. And this was merely the beginning.

Haydn's POV:

Man, Mrs Simmons was the teacher I'd most easily fooled. 'I apologise for my incompetence', I'd said. Ha! Like people were really that respectful of old and creepy Literature teachers nowadays.

I was really lucky to be in Brown Beauty, or Miss Evans class. She already seemed to be taken by me.

My way to woo a girl is different from other guys'. Thing is, I don't chase the girl. She chases me. My tactic is simple, really.

First, I drop, like an angel, into the girl's life. I let her take notice of me, but I seem uninterested.

Next, I let my phone number circulate. She gets my number and texts me. Again, I'm unconcerned.

However, when I feel that she's giving up her dreams of being my girlfriend, I show slight interest and she's re-energised all of a sudden.

And by then, she's hooked. She craves my attention and so my work is complete.

So I do the nicest thing since I chose her. I break her heart and let her move on.

End of story. I'm happy, she's gone. The girl's hurt but I'm sure she learnt to be careful of who she falls in love with next time.

I'm a master at this game of love. I win every time, every round. Never have I met a worthy opponent. I'm just amazing.

"Got time? I'd love to continue our fascinating conversation," I joked when Mrs Simmons class was over and the students were filing out. I'd rushed out to wait for Brown Beauty. Then I talked to her when I saw her by the door.

"Oh, hi, Haydn. I'm Leia Evans," she laughed, extending a hand for me to shake.

"Leia, that name sounds familiar. But where have I heard it?" I wondered out loud.

"Star Wars. Princess Leia," she told me.

"Leia, let's go. We have to get to our next class," a petite blonde standing beside Leia said to her, rudely interrupting us.

"Uh, hello. I'm Haydn. You?" I asked awkwardly.

"Stacey Walsh," she replied coldly. What did I do to offend her? "Now excuse us, but we have other lessons to attend. Maybe you don't mind tardiness, but we do."

I stood there, half waving to Leia as they walked away. Could Stacey not see a hot guy when he stood barely three feet away?

My next period was Study Hall.

I walked into class. And I saw Leia's brother. I still didn't know his name, but he had to be the guy who Blondie from the limo sucked face with.

Well, I figure since they are the same age, they should be twins. If Leia's parents named her Leia, they'd call their son Luke. I'm smart, I can find things out.

"Hey, man, is this seat taken?" I asked Luke, gesturing to the empty chair beside him.

"Uh, no. Are you new? I've never seen you at Duncan Prep before," he replied.

"Yeah, I recently transferred here. Haydn Waldorf," I said.

"Cool. Luke Evans," he told me. Ha! I was right. His name is Luke and he was Leia's brother.

"And that is Michael Williamson," he said, meaning the guy on his other side.

"Hello," Michael said in a fading British accent.

"Hey, Haydn, why don't you look for us later during lunch? It's your first day, so I don't presume you have other people to sit with," he offered.

"Thanks for the offer. I'll hold you up for it," I joked. Another chance to hang out with Leia.

Entering phase one of my genius tactic: now.

I hope this is easier to read. What do you think of Haydn? If I say he's tall, somewhat built and handsome, do you people know an actor fitting that description? Because I can't and I'd love your input! :) Until my next upload. Oh yeah, thanks for all the support and helpful suggestions on how I can improve ^_^
