"I've got too much stuff" Rory claims as she packs for collage

"What?" Lorelai calls from upstairs

"Stuff and it's your fault" Rory replies

"When did I become one of those girls with dozens of beauty products?" Iris says staring at her toiletries bag. She had cut her hair shorter over the summer, "it used to be a touch of mascara, a dab of copper tone, zip bam boom, out the door"

"What's going on? We're late" Rory calls upstairs

"I'm looking for the camera" Lorelai responds and then starts coming down the stairs "it's my job as a mother to record any event in my daughters' life, that I choose. It's in the mothers handbook"

"Does Luke know you can't drive a stick?" Rory asks

"Why?" Lorelai questions

"Because you borrowed his truck and it's a stick" Iris states

"I can drive a stick" Lorelai claims

"You can stir coffee with a stick but you can't drive one" Rory says

"Let's hit the road" Iris interrupts

"Wait I need a picture of the precise moment!" Their mom announces

"Here?" Rory asks

"Yes here" Lorelai says holding up the camera. The two girls pose together and smile for the picture.

"Are you ready now?" Iris asks after

"Okay yes let's go let's go" Lorelai says rushing them out the door.

"Hello name?" A girl asks. They had just arrived at Yale, Luke ended up driving the truck though.

"Rory and Iris Gilmore" Rory tells her

"Girlmore, Girlmore" she looks through the names on the paper she was holding on a clipboard. "There you are. Welcome to Yale"

"Who are you?" Lorelai asks

"I'm Tess. Im their freshman counsellor" she smiles "I'll be living in the building and be there for whatever they need"

"And you look 21, convenient for beer runs" Lorelai adds

"I'll be giving a tour for durfee girls you should not miss" Tess tells them

"Oh I know" Rory says "your is at 12, followed by the optional express lunch at 12 to 2, which is also followed by the telecommunications orientation and internet ID distribution and the parents reception 11 to 1"

"You memorised the schedule" Tess looks at her surprised

"Yeah she's not weird or anything, just a really good memory" Iris jokes

"And I see you brought your own mattress'" Tess says "it's allowed as long as you have arrangements to dispose of the one that was already there"

"Yes we did that" Lorelai claims

"Okay, see you at the tour" she smiles before walking away

"Okay I'm dying to see your rooms" Lorelai says

They fully unpacked and get settled in. There mom had left them now, luckily the sisters were sharing a room, especially now Paris was in the same dorm.

"I can't believe we are actually here" Iris says

"I know, we are here, together" Rory smiles

"Never did I think I could get into an Ivy League and now I'm actually going to one" Iris exclaims

"Iris you've always been smart you just don't realise it" Rory tells her

"Thanks" Iris smiles "I feel a sudden thirst come on"

"Have you already spotted the coffee stand too?" Rory asks

"Maybe on the way in" Iris says, they both stand up and head out the dorm.

"So pretty crazy Paris is with us" Rory says

"I know" Iris responds "I thought she was insane before but setting up a crafts corner is next level"

"She's definitely something" they both laugh

"How's it been since you and Dean, you know" Iris asks

"Uh, fine I guess. Not the best but I'm getting there" Rory tells her twin

"We are both single girls" Iris says. The minute she after she said it she felt her own words sting. Her and Jess never properly broke up, which made it even harder for her the accept it and move on. Europe definitely put her mind off it but she couldn't help feeling upset about it all.
