Chapter 82
❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅Arthur's horse was pushed back by a wild movement, and the Archduke of Loienne lunged at him, swinging his sword even harder.
Arthur shouted, relentlessly targeting the border between his neck and torso, striking at the sword of the Archduke of Loienne.
"Why did you start a war?"
The Archduke of Loienne laughed lowly, choking up again, and took off his blue-feathered helmet. He ran his short, sweaty blond hair up with his armoured hands, glaring at Arthur with his pink-brown eyes filled with hatred.
"Do I need to explain to you why?"
The Archduke Loienne's sword slammed back into Arthur's throat. Arthur simply dodged the blow and asked again the Archduke of Royenne, who was burning his hatred against him.
"If the reason you raised the army was to take revenge on me, why did you attack Fleien Castle and not Felix's Castle?"
"There's no reason for him to answer you, either!"
The Archduke of Loyenne attacked Arthur relentlessly, and each time Arthur blocked his sword.
The more he did so, the harsher and sharper the Archduke Loienne's attack became, but Arthur parried his sword with a light gesture without much difficulty.
Clearly, the Archduke of Loyenne was continuing to attack, and Arthur was just trying to block it, but the sheer difference in skill made it seem like the Archduke was desperately defending himself.
And so, in the midst of a desperate battle for the Archduke of Loienne, the Marquis de Lëlcon, the vice-admiral of the army of the Duchy of L'Euenne, shouted at him:
"The Grand Duke! Stop! Could it be that you have forgotten why we raised the army?"
Hearing this, the Archduke of Loyenne stopped his fierce attack. The way he lowered his sword and pulled his horse back was almost as if he had just pounced on Arthur with the threat of killing him.
Arthur glared at him with an intense gaze, as if he were still going to burn him to death, but he watched the Duke of Loienne calmly withdraw his sword.
A moment ago, he had lunged at him, and he seemed like he would never back down until he hurt his own life, but I wondered what was going on as he withdrew his sword at the word of his subordinate.
So Arthur deliberately provoked the Archduke of Loienne in order to find out his true intentions.
"Are you running away?"
Archduke Loienne's gaze, which had been glaring at Arthur all along, grew sharper.
Arthur stared at Archduke Royenne, who seemed to swing his sword at him at any moment, and waited for his words. He was proud and hot-tempered, so he would easily confide in the slightest provocation like this.
"...... Ha, that's funny."
Contrary to Arthur's expectations, however, the Archduke of Loienne only let out a cold laugh. He glared contemptuously at Arthur and continued.
"Are you running away? Ha, don't be mistaken. It's true that I'm weaker than a monster like you, but I'm not weak enough to frighten you and run away!"
"If a knight turns his back and retreats in the middle of a battle on the battlefield, what is it?"
At Arthur's words, the Archduke of Loyenne had a flushed expression on his face for a moment, but this time he quickly changed his expression.
His eyes were burning with hatred, and his hands were clenched so tightly that his veins were swollen, and he felt like he was about to throw a sword at any moment, but the way he persevered seemed to have a reason to do so.
