Meher moaned in pain as she woke up the next morning. Her head felt heavy and throbbed every second.

Her eyes felt swollen and so were her cheeks. Her throat felt like she had been shouting the entire night.

Even if she wanted to start afresh this morning, her body reminded her of everything that went over the course of a few minutes last night.

She was hurt. Disappointed. Emotional. Dejected. And ashamed.

She had practically begged him to have sex, just once, to have a baby last night. And he had blatantly rejected her.

The clock on the wall displayed eight in the morning. It had been three hours past her normal time of waking up.

She had to go downstairs to make breakfast. Clean the kitchen. Arrange everything for Divya's first time in kitchen. And take out her gifts.

But her body screamed at her for rest. She wasn't ready to drown her mental and emotional pain with physical exhaustion today.

If anything, she didn't even have the energy to breathe today.

But the house was still full of guests.

Shit! The guest rooms were occupied. Where did he sleep last night? Meher wondered with her eyes wide.

Wait! Why am I even worrying about him? Meher's subconscious countered.

Meher's spirits were too dampened to give her husband's whereabouts a fuck.

Pulling the covers up her head, she snuggled deeper into the blanket. She could definitely manage a few more hours of sleep. She was sure the women who were so worried about her fertility can surely manage the kitchen for a day.

"Meher, beta."

Meher heard a feminine voice. Scrunching up her nose, Meher snuggled closer to her long abandoned cover.

Nisha was really worried now.

This morning when her son came to the dining table looking all groggy and still in his formals, she had questioned him about his whereabouts.

'I had been to the terrace, maa. I didn't notice when I fell asleep.' Atharv had lied to his mother.

When asked about his wife's where abouts, he asked them not to disturb her. She has been feeling under the weather after all the chaos in the house due to Aarav's wedding, or so the family was made believe by Atharv.
