Chapter 7
Atharv was tired. He had been sitting in the office for the past sixteen hours and his body felt like he had been thrown from a cliff.
He turned his head to look at the clock. It was five in the morning already.
The meeting went well and they expected a detailed e-mail about the demands and criteria within the next few hours of the meeting. The fact that it wasn't working hour in the other side of the world, didn't really deter the clients from expecting the reports.
Atharv had to send the final email with all the attachments by six in the morning. He wondered if he'll be left with enough time to go home and freshen up.
Shaking his head and slurping his coffee that has gone cold by now. He has to concentrate to het his work done. The last thing he wants is to stay longer to correct the e-mails too.

The house was eerily silent. The regular sounds of pressure cooker or his mother yelling for his father, were absent.
Atharv walked into the house. It was a mess inside. Remainings of the rituals were scattered in the kitchen as he pulled the door to the fridge open and took out a water bottle. Drinking straight out of the bottle, he kept the container back to its place.
Atharv walked up the staircase and towards his room. The previous night disagreement completely forgotten until he reached the threshold of his room and heard a sob reverberate.
His hand paused on the top of the golden knob. The pending conversation crashed into Atharv's mind. He didn't have the right state of mind at the discuss the topic at the moment.
He released the knob and took a step back. He had slept on the terrace last night because the guest rooms were occupied.
He took another step back. The guest rooms were vacant today as the guests had already departed.
With a new resolve, he turned back and walked towards one of the other rooms.
As soon as he reached the first one, Atharv entered the room and closed the door behind him. Taking of his clothes, he calmly walked back towards the bathroom. Freshening up and putting on a bathrobe which had already been cleaned and restocked in the bathroom, he slipped into the bed.
He would definitely talk to her after he had a few hours of sleep.
