"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." - Colossians 3:23 (ESV)

(Context)

In the account of Nehemiah, we see a man devoted to his work and purpose. Upon hearing the distressing news about Jerusalem's broken walls, Nehemiah was deeply moved. He sought permission from King Artaxerxes to return to his homeland and rebuild the city. Despite facing opposition, Nehemiah led the people with determination and diligence. His commitment to the task at hand exemplified the essence of working heartily, not for the approval of men but as service to God. His focus on the Lord's mission inspired a nation to come together for a higher purpose, showcasing the profound impact of dedicated labor when aligned with divine calling.
