Previously on Hidden Wings

"Luz.....it's Hunter," Willow said.

Luz's blood ran cold.
Eda was confused, and it showed, "Who is this Hunter? Also, why did Raine come to get you two?" Luz, however, was panicking and concerned, "Hunter. As in the Golden Guard Hunter? That Hunter?" She asked panicking. "Wait. What?!" Eda said. "First of all, Luz breathe and Eda, not so loud, Hunter hasn't slept in over a week. Secondly, yes Luz, it is that Hunter, and yes Eda, he is the Golden Guard. He's undergoing a... transformation of some sort," Gus sighed, exasperated. "This is the second time something like this has happened," Willow elaborated, explaining Gus' exasperation.
"Wait second time? What was the first?" Darius asked, apparently not knowing anything about this subject. "The first one was very minor. Nothing like what is happening right now. The only thing that happened was that he started to grow some feathers on his back, arms, legs, and in his hair," Willow stated.
"How do you know all of this?" Eda asked.
Just as Gus was about to answer, there was a scream of pain coming from inside the room. Willow and Gus quickly jump into action, Willow grabbing the medical supplies from Raine and rushing into the room with Gus. Leaving the door open for everyone to see what was happening inside the room.
And boy, did they wish that they didn't look in.
There were blood splotches all over the floor and bloody towels scattered around the room. Then there, sitting in one of the corners, trembling, was a boy covered in blood bandages and feathers. He was making trilling and chirping noises. The little cardinal palisman, hovering in the air next to the boy's leg, was responding to the boy with his own chirps, trying to calm him down. It took Luz a minute, but she finally realized who this boy was.
It was Hunter.
As Gus, Willow, and the cardinal palisman were trying to calm him down; Lus took this chance to study what changed about Hunter since the last time she saw him.
There were feathers in his hair and on his arms, they were bright red, some tinting into black at the end. His ears seemed to have grown slightly longer, with feathers at the end of them. His legs turned into hindlimbs and his feet turned into zygodactyls, matching the cardinal palisman's.
Willow and Gus picked up a large towel to lay over his back, but when they saw what was on his back, they stopped.
On his back were two, almost full-sized, cardinal wings, that matched the palisman. He also has tail feathers, that looked very uncomfortable because his pants were pushing them in all directions, not allowing them to lay straight.
Luz also noticed that most of the feathers on his wings were either broken in half or lying at angles.
