Zairo had to take a nap, the trip to the police station was longer than anticipated. Making Emmett take over, he ordered him to take him to the police station. Emmett does not seem to care as long as he's away from those infected. Keeping his eyes slightly opened he kept vigilant, incase Emmett goes off course.
Vianette fell asleep a few minutes before Zairo switched with Emmett.
"Hey man! You know what's going on? Tonight's really crazy right now. Ya know." Zairo responded to him as truthfully as he can, "Who knows, all I know is that if you get bit you become just like them." Looking at the side of his eyes Emmett kept talking, "ya know, now that ya mentioned it your right." He looked back to the front when Zairo waved his metal bat towards Emmett's face.
"Why are you going to the police station again?" Zairo annoyed, just told him to be quiet. "Be quiet I need to rest." Emmett just zipped his mouth.
"Oh and one more thing, ignore anyone else along the way. Got it?" Emmett nodded and listened.
Had he not needed to go to the police station, he would have taken anyone else with him. He only helped Emmett because it was by chance that he was alone. Zairo also needed someone who could watch the bus while he's gone or sleeping. Zairo can only think that Emmett's luck played a part in their meeting.
With not needing to focus on driving, Zairo could make a mental map for when things go wrong. Plans should never be absolute, revision will always be needed. Zairo knew this all too well.
Taking a few hours Emmett was able to reach the Police stations gates. Waking Zairo up, he shook his shoulder. "You can stop now." He says with his eyes closed.
Making sure to stretch, Zairo consumed an energy bar while moving. "Hey...can I have some...?" Emmett looks at Zairo with puppy eyes. Looking at Emmett he chucks one for him to catch. "Give one to the girl when she wakes up." he says to Emmett. "Got it."
"I'll be back, keep the door closed. Do not under any circumstance open this door until I am here." He orders to Emmett.
Giving an okay hand sign Zairo steps out. Seeing a metal pole he hands it to Emmett, "here, use this to defend yourself." Emmett just wished him luck, he was only glad that he did not have to leave the safety of the bus. Showing Emmett where the latch is the door to the bus closes.
With the stone walls gates being busted, Zairo made his way to the building. He can see that the building got overrun from the inside. Most likely a carrier caused it. Whoever escaped had to break the gates in a rush. Sliding his bat down from his sleeve he treaded carefully. Making a banging noise against the wall. Waiting to see if any of the infected are lurking. After a few minutes of waiting nothing came.
Entering the building he saw that the reception desk was a mess. Lucky for the ones close to the only exit, those who are deep into the buildings would have had to pave their way through. Looking at the information of the building layout he took a picture of it. Having to navigate an unknown building by himself. He was not too savvy on going blindly. Roadmapping the quickest route he jotted it on his phone.
Finding any weapons or any useful gear is not his priority. Unlikely they would just leave it in the security building. For now he needs to focus on the original plan, since he can always come back. As the chances of the police station being raided for weapons are low. Since any looters would not be able to locate the heavy duty keys. Should he come across anything on the way, it will be a different matter. Grabbing any codes, access keys, cards he stashed them into his pocket.
Making his way into the hallway, he can see that many struggled to get away. Computers are broken and smashed from the aftermath. Looking at each of the rooms. He noticed how all the operators and officers turned from within the rooms. Assuming it was from being infected, not knowing their fate they succumbed. Not needing to combat any lurking infected, he was able to get to the operator rooms department. Looking for any functioning machines, he began to see if he can broadcast a message. Fabricating quickly a voice filter, he recorded his voice and began to upload the message. It would take some time for him to complete the message and alarm the city or county, maybe even globally.
