As the tension brewed in Cocoyashi, Arlong had grabbed Genzo by the collar and hoisted him into the air.
"Since you wish to rebel... I'll have to kill you. Just as a little example."
Nojiko had endured enough. She comes out from behind the building, screaming at Arlong.
"Don't kill Gen!! We've been loyal for eight years, why would we have a reason to rebel now!?"
He replies, flashing his sharp teeth at her.
"He owns weapons, and I have made it clear that's a direct threat of rebellion. It's either this... or I wipe out the whole village!!"
He howls in laughter, before continuing.
"If but one of you humans decides to fight, we'll crush your village to the ground, understand!?"
He barks, Genzo's resolve never fading.
"Everyone... go back inside. We didn't spend eight years for nothing. It's the only way we can live on!"
"The man is right!! Living is the most important privilege!"
The gyojin slams Genzo into a wall.
"There is a strict caste system in nature,"
He holds him up by his bleeding head, looking at the crowd.
"And humans are below fishmen!"
"Shut the hell up!! Gunpowder Star!!"
A younger, more familiar voice calls out from a rooftop, as Arlong is blasted by an attack.
"I am Captain Usopp, brave and daring warrior of the seas! Hear my name and cower! I have an army of 8,000 and we're not afraid to fight!"
"Hey, Arlong! That's the long-nosed guy!"
"I don't care how many people are in your army... they're just humans!!"
Slowly but surely, Arlong rips the house which Usopp perched on, right from the ground.
"Shit! I'm gonna die!!"
The marksman leaps from the house, running away.
"Catch that brat!!"
Arlong roars, and his inferiors hold him back, to prevent anything brash from happening.
"Let's just go back to base...!"
The group walks away, back to their area of operations. One of the pirates, Kuroobi, turns back to look at the disheveled Genzo.
"We're coming back. Fate has given you a day to live."
The townspeople gather around the injured.
"Gen, we should heal you up..."
"Don't worry about me... I caused this mess..."
He says, apologetically waving his hand.
"Hey, everyone..."
A woman with tangerine colored hair appears, causing them to whisper amongst themselves before going dead silent. It hurt her to see them this way.
"What do you want, Nami?"
Nojiko asks, getting Genzo properly seated.
"I wanted to know why it was so loud over here... but... I guess it's on Arlong..."
She says, looking at the blood which oozed down Genzo's face.
