"You look different."
I instinctively touched my hair. "I know, I had it cut yesterday. Does it look bad?" I didn't know why I asked him that.
"Not at all. It suites you."
I felt a sense of relief and sat down beside him. It was colder than usual and I regretted not bringing an extra jacket. He must have noticed me shivering because he offered me his long brown coat.
"No thanks."
"Alright, freeze to death."
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not going to freeze death. The bus is due to show up in less than ten minutes. I'll be fine."
A few minutes passed.
"Why did you cut your hair?" he randomly asked.
"I wanted a change."
He smirked. "Did something dramatic happen in your life?"
"Yeah actually, I got promoted at work."
"Seriously?"
"Yup. It's a miracle."
"That's great! I'm happy for you," he congratulated sincerely.
I was touched. "Thanks. That means a lot."
