"I'm buying my Camaro tomorrow."
My heart dropped. I had forgotten about that. "That's great," I lied.
He read my expression. "We can still keep in contact, you know."
"Sure." But it would be different without him in the morning. I could hardly remember how things were before I met him.
He grabbed my hand and I nearly pulled it away out of instinct. He held it tightly in both hands and I didn't have a clue what he was doing. He brought it to his lips and kissed it softly.
"You've been good to me, Emily. Trust me, I won't forget you."
