"How's work?"
He sighed. "Exhausting, as always. I've got some pretty demanding clients."
"Sounds stressful."
"It is, but it's worth it," he replied.
"Because it pays well?" I asked.
He shook his head. "No, because it's what I like to do. I could never work a job just for the money. I would be miserable."
"You're lucky. You just happen to like a career that pays well," I pointed out.
"True. You don't get paid that much, do you?"
"I get paid enough to live comfortably. That's all I need."
"And it makes you happy," he added, smiling.
I nodded. "It does make me happy."
"That's the way people should live."
