"Do you want a cigarette?"
I pulled off my headphones. "Huh?" The guy from yesterday was holding out a cigarette to me.
"I asked if you wanted a cigarette," he repeated.
I stared at him, he wasn't wearing a hoodie today. He was wearing a full suit and carrying a briefcase.
"Sure." I pulled it out from between his fingers.
"For yesterday," he explained.
"Oh, thanks." I pulled out my lighter and lit it. I glanced at him from the corner of my eye. He was looking straight forward, probably at nothing in particular. He had nice side profile.
"Where are you going?" I asked after a while.
"Work."
I didn't ask him what he did or where he worked. I just said, "Cool."
