ch 42. Front lines

4 years after the first attack of that demon.. more demonic creatures showed themselves in the borders, soldiers fight too keep the kingdom safe

"Dammit! There's more of them coming!"

"Archers! Fire!"

"Bring the wounded to the healers!"

The sound of battle as more demonic beast attacks the wall...lizard monsters that can climb walls with their claws hands

The soldiers is in the verge of getting defeated.. and the lizards is the last of their worries..ogres are also about to enter the battle..but these aren't normal ogres..their eyes and bloodshot and they are roaring in rage more than usual

"Stand your ground men! Stand your ground!" The leader of the soldiers said..even if he has a injured head he kept fighting in the front lines with the others.. he knows what's happening

This isn't a normal amount of monster..and all of them are tainted with demonic energy..there is a demon among the enemies

"The ogres are coming!!! They'll break through the wall in this state!" One soldier shouted

"Don't let them! Focus fire on the ogres!" The leader shouted his commands

One of the soldiers.. overcame with fear starts to fall back running away from the battle..the leader grab him by the shoulder "where do you think your going!?"

"This is crazy! We can't win this battle! We are doomed!"

"If you don't fight the people beyond this wall will die! Even if we die in this battle! The longer we stand our ground the safer our families will be! Stand your ground until reinforcements arrives!"

The soldier felt shame..he can see that the leader is also scared..but kept on fighting even with his head injury

Then suddenly a lizard beast manage to get up the wall they are on and is about to attack the leader..the leader push the soldier away and ready to stab the lizard..until the lizard froze in it's tracks

"Well said captain" a young woman's voice can be heard.. green eyed with a shoulder length brunette hair wearing commander's uniform and a cloak over her left arm..her right hand holding a rapier..

The surrounding suddenly became cold.. it was the woman's magic "Order of the Winter rose! Don't let this beast go last through the walls!" She ordered her men who appear to help.. with Armor adorned with a white rose attacking the enemy with crossbows

Mages with robes with the same rose symbol.. and lastly

Everyone's attention went towards the highest part of the wall.. a blonde young woman shining with holy aura raises her mace..she's wearing an all white robes with blue patterns "holy light!" As she casted her holy magic..a bright yellow light emitted from her mace making all the lizard beast flinch making them easier to hit and kill

"I-is that.. is that the Saintess?" The leader ask.."then..you must be"

"Yes, we have arrived to help, I am Cassandra Windermere the newly appointed commander of the newly founded order of the winter rose..the order that will help the Saintess to fulfill her duties "

"A-amazing..b-but commander Windermere, the enemy have ogres! 4 of them to be exact! And a demon lurking somewhere!"

"Do not worry sire.. we already account for it"

The leader looks at awe as he suddenly sees from his peripheral.. a man in a silver half plate Armor with a blue surcoat. The man Wields a long sword and a heater shield..just like the others he has the symbol of the white rose on his armor.
