The morning was crisp, the sun casting a golden glow over Storybrooke as preparations for the wedding began to pick up pace. Amira stood on the deck of the Jolly Roger, gazing at the ship that had become not only her home but the place where she would marry Killian. The thought of the wedding filled her with excitement, but there was so much to be done.
With a deep breath, Amira reached out with her magic. She had always felt a certain connection to the power within her, and though she was pregnant, she felt confident that a little magic couldn't hurt. Slowly, ribbons of soft light began to weave through the air, wrapping around the ship's rails, and decorating the mast with delicate flowers. White linens draped themselves over tables, and lanterns floated gently into place. It was all coming together beautifully, and in record time.
She smiled to herself, pleased with the results, when a voice suddenly cut through the air.
"Amira!"
Amira turned quickly, startled to see Snow standing at the edge of the dock, her hands on her hips and a look of disapproval on her face. Snow marched up the gangplank, her expression firm.
"You're still using magic?" Snow asked, her voice filled with concern. "Amira, you're pregnant. You shouldn't be using magic at all right now."
Amira bit her lip, her eyes shifting around the ship, now covered in elegant decorations. She hadn't thought it was a big deal. It was just a little magic, after all. "I didn't think it would hurt anything," she replied softly, rubbing her belly unconsciously. "It's just decorations."
Snow crossed her arms, her expression softening slightly but still firm. "I know you think it's harmless, but magic is unpredictable, especially when you're carrying a child. You don't know how it could affect the baby or you."
Amira let out a small sigh. She knew Snow was right—she had heard stories of how unpredictable magic could be when tied to strong emotions, and her pregnancy added another layer of complexity. But it was hard to resist the urge to use her abilities, especially when they made things so much easier.
"I just wanted everything to be perfect," Amira admitted, her voice quiet. "It's our wedding, Snow. I wanted to make sure it's special."
Snow's expression softened further, and she reached out, placing a comforting hand on Amira's arm. "I know, and it will be special—because it's you and Killian. But trust me, you don't need magic for that. You've got people here to help you. And more importantly, you need to focus on taking care of yourself and the baby."
Amira looked into Snow's eyes and nodded slowly. Snow always had a way of grounding her, reminding her of the things that really mattered. She glanced down at her belly, feeling the gentle flutter of life growing inside her. Snow was right—Liam came first.
"Okay," Amira finally agreed. "No more magic."
Snow smiled warmly, giving her a gentle hug. "Good. Now, let's get the rest of these decorations finished the old-fashioned way."
Amira chuckled softly, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. They would get the wedding ready, and it would be beautiful, magic or not. As long as she had Killian by her side, it would be perfect.
The day had finally come, and the Jolly Roger was a flurry of quiet excitement as the final preparations for the wedding fell into place. The ship looked perfect, dressed with ribbons, flowers, and lanterns, all without magic this time. Amira stood below deck, nerves fluttering in her chest as Snow and Johanna fussed over her.
Amira's wedding dress was exactly what she had envisioned for a pirate-themed wedding. The fabric was rich, with details that resembled her life on the sea—comfortable yet elegant, with a touch of pirate flair. Her heart raced with anticipation, knowing that soon she would be marrying Killian, the man who had stolen her heart and stood by her through so many challenges.
