Chapter Five: Forgotten Nights

It had been days since the roses arrived, their soft, velvety petals haunting her. Ever since that moment, Y/N's dreams had shifted, becoming sharper and more vivid with every nightfall. The air around her grew thick with a sensation she couldn't explain, as though the roses were a silent key, unlocking something deep within her. She lay in her bed that night, staring at the ceiling, the weight of the day pressing down, but sleep did not come easily. It lingered just beyond her reach, elusive, until finally, she slipped into its embrace.

But this was no ordinary dream.

The night folded around her like a veil, the world she once knew falling away as she drifted into a place both strange and familiar

The night folded around her like a veil, the world she once knew falling away as she drifted into a place both strange and familiar. It began as it often did, disjointed, fragmented like a painting only half-complete. Y/N stood on unfamiliar ground, though her heart told her otherwise. The sky was an endless void of black, studded with stars that seemed alive, pulsing with some hidden rhythm. A chill wind whispered through the air, carrying voices too faint to understand.

She looked down. Barefoot, standing in a field, the grass damp beneath her toes. A silver moon hung low on the horizon, its cold light casting everything in an eerie glow. In the distance loomed the outline of a forest, its shadowed depths pulling at her with quiet insistence. Her pulse quickened, her breath shallow. The fear wasn't there, only overwhelming anticipation like the world was holding its breath.

Where am I? she wondered, the thought slipping into the void.

As she moved, the grass whispered against her legs, brushing her skin like a gentle hand. The wind carried a scent of roses. Always roses. But beneath the familiar sweetness, something darker lingered, something ancient. The scent pulled her forward, her steps steady but slow, toward the darkness of the trees.

And then, faint at first, she heard it, a voice. Soft, barely a whisper, yet incredibly familiar. It called to her without words, a presence that tugged at her very soul. Each step felt heavier, as if the dream resisted her, holding her back from the truth waiting at its end.
