Chapter 6: Fighting Spirit
Song: Fighter
I hear the wolves calling my name, no surrender
Here only the strong survive

Louis's POV:
"My greatest weapon is... my dribble," Bachira mumbled, his eyes half-closed like he was about to nap mid-sentence.
"My best weapon? Ha! My awesome shooting technique. I call it 'Sexy football,'" Raichi boasted, striking a pose like he was modeling for a sports magazine. I almost laughed.
"Mine... close-quarters play," Gagamaru muttered, looking like he was trying to remember if that was true. Kuon was diligently scribbled everything down. "Okay, next. Louis," he said, looking at me.
I opened my eyes, still leaning against the wall, doing my best impression of someone who cared and try not to fall asleep "My weapon... I can score a goal from anywhere in the 25-meter range and... never mind," I mumbled.
"Isagi?" Kuon asked next, shifting the focus. Isagi scratched his head, thinking, before shrugging. "I don't know yet," he admitted. So uhh they skipped him.
"Okay, last one, Chigiri?"
"Don't wanna say it," Chigiri replied, completely refusing to play along. Typical.
We discussed the game—or rather, they did—and somehow ended up with this brilliant plan they called the 'I'm the Next 9!' tactic. What a lame name!
Over the next few days, we trained. It wasn't easy trying to turn a bunch of strangers into a team. We needed someone to lead us, the strongest one here. Yeah, that should be me acutally... but do I look like one? of course not.
Instead, I focused on expanding my shooting range. At least I could aim for something bigger than that Wannabe King's ego.
Later on Ego announced the first game results, we were in third place after Team W who crushed Team Y with a 5-0 win, and Team V demolished Barou's team with a 6-1 score... Monstious teams everywhere. That meant our next opponents were Team Y, who were hanging by a thread.
As we warmed up on the field, Team Y arrived after us. Their presence didn't feel as intimidating as the Barou's team had.
The game kicked off with Bachira, who quickly found himself surrounded by two defenders from the opposing team.
"Do you really think two defenders can stop me?!" he exclaimed excitedly.
"Actually, it's three," replied another player, a guy with black hair and bangs that obscured his eyes. He perfectly blocked Bachira's path, making him to pass to Isagi on the left wing.
They managed to neutralize our primary weapon; it's hard to believe they did it so quickly. It seems they had a strategy in place, too. After all, they lost their last game, so they had to learn from their mistakes. Unlike us, this is their last chance.
Isagi advanced but got blocked again, so he passed the ball back to Bachira. Bachira moved forward, but after Raichi shouted that ten minutes had already passed, he passed it to Kunigami. However, the next ten minutes proved to be just as unproductive.
"They've got an air-tight defense, huh?" I said as I stood next to Ohkawa, who wasn't moving an inch—not even in the defensive line. Kunigami shot the ball towards the net, but was blocked by 2 defenders dive in.
