Chapter 20: In Which Louis Decides to Make A Decision

Song: Blinding lights

I can't sleep until I feel your touch.

Louis's POV:

I kicked the last ball, and it flew straight into the net, not even the Blue Lock guy could catch it. I exhaled, giving myself a little mental applause and smiled as I started walking toward the gate.

I entered the next room, and it was eerily silent. Like, I was waiting for the room to suddenly break into song or something. The only soul in there was a guy sitting against the wall, eyes closed, head pointing up.

Even in the dim light, there was something sharp about him. His black hair, slightly longer than Aiza's, fell in careless waves that somehow looked intentional. His jawline was sharp enough to carve stone, and the reddish tint to his long lashes added a touch of fire. He cracked one eye open, his gaze cutting through the silence before shutting it again.

I just plopped down across from him, trying to look like I knew what I was doing. The monitor flashed 'Move forward in teams of 3.'

Wait, was I second to arrive? Or had everyone already made their teams without me? Before I could figure it out, a tiny guy with bright pink hair walked in, and I couldn't help but stare. The dude had a single braid hanging over his left eye like he was straight out of an anime.

Okay, so now we were three, but the place was still dead quiet. No one was making a move to start the team-building process. Just a bunch of awkwardly avoiding eye contact.

Then, the door opened again, and in walked Nagi Seishiro. Ah, finally, someone I knew. He looked like he couldn't care less, which was exactly his vibe.

And right on cue, Reo Mikage followed him in. Ugh. Could my actual teammates please arrive already? Isagi? Bachira? or atleast Aiza? Where are you when I need you? Seriously, I feel like I'm at a bad family reunion with no snacks.

"Hey, Seishu Louis!" Nagi called out, I looked up to see him. "Won't you team up with us?"

"huh?"

"Come to our team" he said, Nagi and Reo's team?

"So, that's who you want as our last member?" Reo shot in, raising an eyebrow, probably wondering what cosmic event led Nagi to pick me.

"Yup," Nagi said, glancing at Reo like he was proud of his decision. "He was the most amazing one in our last match."

I couldn't help but chuckle. "I guess that can't happen. I've got someone else in mind." Who? I didn't really know, but definitely not these two.

One, I'm terrible at getting along with strangers. Two, Reo's vibe does not please me and he also doesn't like me. Three, I'm not playing the third wheel with those two lovebirds.

"Well, how about this?" Nagi suddenly proposed, surprising the heck out of me. "I'll join you and the person you want to be with."

Wait, what? He was willing to ditch Reo just to play with me? I mean, that's flattering... but also confusing.

"W-what are you saying, Nagi?" Reo suddenly shot up, his voice betraying a hint of panic. "You... you were teaming up with me, right?"

"Nah," Nagi said, sounding way too calm for someone about to crush another guy's heart, but still the sign of something else was there. "You taught me about football, Reo, and yeah, we could've been the best. But we lost. We're not the strongest."
