Blake's POV

It had been a long day. After the tour with Professor Robles, I had gone straight to work at the coffee shop. My shift ran from 5 AM to midnight, and most days, I wondered how I was able to keep going. But the job was necessary. It helped me support my family and cover expenses that my scholarship didn't. So, I pushed through the exhaustion, just like always.

By the time I got home, I barely had any energy left. I ate a quick dinner with my family, feeling their warm presence comforting me after the harsh day, but the weight of everything hung over me. Matutulog na lang ako para maka-recharge.

The next day, it was lunch break at school, and I found myself at the cafeteria with my two best friends, Midnight and Gwendol. They were laughing over some old joke, making me smile despite the exhaustion that lingered in my bones.

"Grabe, Blake. Nakakainggit ka talaga, kahit puyat ka, ang ganda mo pa rin," Midnight teased, flashing a grin. "Ako 'to, nakatulog lang ng 8 hours pero mukha nang zombie!"

I laughed lightly, shaking my head. Midnight always knew how to make me laugh.

"Uy, speaking of zombies," Gwendol said, her tone dropping as she glanced across the cafeteria, "andyan si Mo."

We all turned our heads. Mo and his group of so-called "minions" had just entered the room, their cocky smirks plastered on their faces. Mo had a reputation for being a jerk, but recently, he had taken things to a new level—especially when it came to Midnight.

Midnight's ex-girlfriend had cheated on her with Mo a few months back. The betrayal had crushed her, and ever since, Mo had made it a habit to throw insults her way, mocking her every chance he got.

"Oh, great," Midnight muttered, tensing up. "Here we go again."

Morgan's POV

I was walking through the cafeteria when I spotted Blake and her friends sitting together. I had mixed feelings about Blake—after the tour, I could tell she was a capable and responsible student. But something about her seemed... off. There was a side to her I didn't fully understand. I noticed the way she gravitated toward her friends, how she seemed to hold back in certain situations.

Just as I was about to continue my way down the hallway, I heard shouting. It was coming from where Blake and her friends were seated.

Blake's POV

Mo wasted no time. He strutted over to our table, his eyes locked on Midnight with that same cruel smirk.

"Hey, Midnight," Mo sneered, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "How's it feel to know your girl left you for a real man? Oh wait, you wouldn't know what that's like, would you? Pinalit sa may talong eh nu HAHAHAHAHA"

Midnight's hands clenched into fists, her knuckles turning white. I could feel the tension radiating from her, and I knew she was close to snapping. Oh no. Not today. Please, not today.

"Shut up, Mo," I said sharply, trying to keep the peace. "Wala ka nang ibang magawa, ha? Kainin mo yung tira tira ko, wala akong pake. Alam mo ang mas nakakabwisit? Yung pag mumukha mo kesa sa pambubully mo! at proud na proud kapa talaga kumain ng tira ng iba" midnight throw him a playful smirk

But Mo wasn't done. He leaned in closer to Midnight, taunting her with more insults, more hurtful words.

Nagulat kami ng hinampas ni midnight yung lamesa at tumayo Insultohin mo lang ako wag lang pamilya ko hinayupak ka! Midnight's eyes burned with fury, and before I could stop her and swung her fist right into Mo's face.
