Suyash and Pallavi sat in the quiet hum of the car, the city lights flickering outside."Yeah, she's cute," Suyash murmured, his eyes glancing briefly at the photo Pallavi held up on her phone. She scrolled through more images of Pragati, her face glowing in the dim light of the screen.
Suyash wasn't particularly interested-after all, he didn't even know Pragati-but Pallavi didn't seem to catch the hint.
"How old is she?" Suyash asked, trying to be polite.
"Three," Pallavi replied, her voice light with affection. "You're still coming to India, right? Pragati's going to love it when I tell her I'm bringing her soon-to-be granddad. I can already hear her little voice, calling you 'Dadu, Dadu'."
The car slowed to a stop, the journey quietly ending. Pallavi stepped out, her movements soft in the cool night.
"Goodnight," Suyash said, waving from inside the car.
"Bye, I love you," Pallavi called as she walked towards her door. Suyash watched her go.
Suddenly, Pallavi stopped, turned around, and said, "You didn't say 'I love you' back."
"What?" Suyash said.
"And you brought me all the way home but didn't even walk me to the door."
"What?" he repeated, confusion clouding his face.
"You don't love me, do you?"
"That's not true."
"Don't call me for a week," Pallavi said, her tone sharp as she turned back towards the door, swiping her card and entering the password.
Suyash, realizing his mistake, jumped out of the car and ran after her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her back.
"What are you doing?" Pallavi asked, surprised.
"I'm fixing it," Suyash replied, taking her back to the car.
Pallavi was confused.
"Alright, now I'm going to walk you to your door, like you wanted," he added as they took steps forward together.
"Happy now?" he asked.
"You still didn't say 'I love you.'"
"I've said it before. Do I have to say it every time we meet?"
"Yes! Every time, Every day."
"You're so demanding."
"Don't complain. Just say it-it's only three words."
Suyash faintly smiled but remained silent.
"Let go of my hand," Pallavi snapped, irritated, pulling away from his grasp. She walked back to the door, opened it, and stepped inside. As she was about to close the door, Suyash finally spoke.
"I LOVE YOU!" His voice echoed as if he wanted the entire universe to hear.
"PALLAVI, I LOVE YOU!" he shouted again.
Pallavi, now grinning, ran back to him and hugged him.
The sound of a phone ringing broke the moment, pulling Pallavi out of her thoughts back to reality. She had been reminiscing about her past. It was Gunn calling.
"Excuse me," she said, stepping away from where she and Suyash sat, along with three others, in a conference room during a live video call with a client displayed on a large screen.
"Hello?" Pallavi answered.
"Dadi!" Pragati's cheerful voice rang through the phone.
Pallavi's face instantly brightened.
