Wednesday...

Wednesdays are strangely peculiar days. It's the middle of the week. Things have piled up and need to be dealt with. My mother wants us to meet for coffee - why it's always Wednesday is beyond me. And occasionally new clients venture into my office.

Today, I have an impeccably dressed in a very elegant black pin-stripped suit lawyer sitting across from me in one of the leather armchairs. He has a pleasant smile on his thin face as he places a heavy dossier on my desk.

"These are some of my client's, shall we say, wishes for the property he is looking to buy."

Some? I try to suppress a frown as I take the dossier in my hands. It feels like it weighs at least 1kg. I turn a few pages and leave it on the desk. "Our staff will review it carefully and look for appropriate options for your client." I reply in a neutral, very professional tone.

The lawyer smiles condescendingly. "Mr Hwang is hoping for your personal attention to his request." I return an icy smile. "All of our staff members are more than capable of handling significant portfolios." I state firmly. "But Mr Lee..." The lawyer tries to protest. "You can tell your client that we will do our best to accommodate his needs. If not satisfied, I am more than happy to recommend a couple of agencies we work with and handle major clients with big budgets. Or, he can find another agency on his own. And now, if you'll excuse me..." I get up and walk to my office door. "I have another appointment." I motion for him to take the hint, my hand on the doorknob.

"I seem to have offended you somehow." The lawyer stands up, but does not move. "I assure you, you haven't." "Maybe if Mr Hwang talks to you in person..." "He can make an appointment with my secretary."

Mr Hwang is getting on my nerves. What is this? He tries to mess with my business now?

"I think you are overreacting." Jisung mumbles nonchalantly. "You own a real estate agency. He wants to buy property. He is a client. You're reading too much into it." I side-eye him annoyed. "He was trying to seduce me last night." "And what is so wrong with that? You're a handsome man. If you are not interested just politely decline his advances. There is no need to act like a caveman." "I don't act like a caveman!" "I'm pretty sure you chewed off the lawyer's head though." He snickers annoyingly. "When he came out of your office he looked like he was reprimanded by the headmaster." "Not my problem." I mutter indignantly.

Thursday morning I walk into my office and I'm faced with this: Hyunjin, sitting in one of the leather armchairs like he owns the place. I look at my secretary's desk, it is empty. "Where is that girl when I need her?" I mutter under my breath. I catch him smirking. Of course he heard me. Vampires have heightened senses than your average human. Shit! My mood is getting worse by the minute.
