"Beatrice!"
"Hold on!"
"Hurry up, Beatrice!"
"Hold on mom!" Then I mumbled, "So freaking impatient."
"You have exactly two minutes before I come up there and drag you down here!"
"I'm getting ready! Calm down!"
"Well we have guests waiting to see you!"
"I'll be down in a minute!" I said while digging through my droor.
I decided that I'll go down and ask my mom where my glasses are.
Slowly and carefully, I made my way down the stairs.
"Mom?"
"In the kitchen."
"Where are my..." I trailed off when I saw someone new there. "Who the heck are you?"
"Halden... But you can call me H-Dog."
"Yeah, not gonna happen." I said shaking my head.
"Why not."
"Well besides the fact that it's stupid and I don't plan on ever really talking to you?" He looked at me and opened his mouth to say something. "Mom, where-" I interjected Halden and Mom interjected me.
"Next to the toaster."
"Thanks. I have to go to work, but I will see you later." I said putting on my sweater over my Elvis t-shirt.
"What time will you be home?"
"Depends." I said shrugging.
"Depends." My mom scoffed. "If it's not anything important then you are coming back here right after work."
"Mom, what if Vinnie wants to hang out?"
"I don't mean to be nosy," Halden buts in. "But who's Vinnie?"
" My best friend." I said at the same time my mom said, "Her meant to be."
"Mom! Me and Vinnie never have been and most likely never will be a thing!"
"So your saying that there is still a chance?" Halden nosily asks.
"Butt out Halden!"
"He is right though, you never said it would be a one hundred percent no."
"Ugh, I'm leaving. Can I take the car?"
"Sorry, no can do. I need it. Can you ride your bike?"
"It's really hot outside and it's a pretty long way to ride a bike. I'll just go call Iris."
I went up to my room and called Iris. She couldn't. I have to call Vinnie.
After two rings he picked up. "Hey."
"Hey."
"What do you need?"
"Vinnie, just because I call you doesn't mean I need something."
"You, my friend, are a liar, liar, pants on fire."
I started cracking up. "What?" I got out in between giggles, snorts, and full out laughter.
"You heard me! But seriously, what do you need?"
"A ride."
"Okay."
"Oh and I can't come over tonight."
"Why?"
"Mom wants me to come home right after work. Can only go anywhere if it's important." I said, putting my phone on speaker.
"I'm not important?"
"No, not really."
"Well, you're nice."
"I know right."
"Alright well just give me like fifteen minutes."
"Okie dokie. See you- AH! WHAT THE HELL HALDEN! Were you eavesdropping? Get out of my room you jerk." I yelled after I opened my door and he fell in. "I have to go Vinnie." I said and then hung up.
"I thought you weren't talking to me." He said with an eyebrow raised.
"Get out." I said firmly while pushing on his chest to make him move. After he was far enough, I slammed the door and locked it.
"Jerk" I said and waited for his footsteps to go away so I could leave.
