'Fine. Whoever falls in love first loses.'
'deal.'
Yooyeon spotted Seoyeon still sitting at the bus stop after school, staring off into the distance.
She paused and said, 'Are you not getting on the bus? People are queueing over there.'
'I am. There's just too many people waiting there. When the bus is here, my girlfriend will come pick me up in the end anyway.' Seoyeon replied, making Yooyeon roll her eyes. 'Do you want some?'
Seoyeon brings her chocolate bar up to Yooyeon's mouth.
'I'm not hungry.'
'Alright then.' Seoyeon replied, biting into the chocolate. 'You sure you don't want some?'
Yooyeon looked at the chocolate bar and then said, 'Fine.'
Seoyeon brought the chocolate bar up to Yooyeon's mouth, only to mischievously turn it at the last second and take a bite herself, a playful grin spreading across her face.
'I know you want it, it's good.' she said, twirling the snack around. 'Be my girlfriend first.'
Yooyeon scoffed. 'Is that your move?' she said, coming closer to Seoyeon. She leaned in, bringing her nose just a breath away from Seoyeon's lips, her gaze steady and challenging. They were millimetres apart, until Yooyeon pulled away.
'It smells good, just like you said.' she smirked, walking into the bus. 'See you, friend.'
...
Yooyeon was eating breakfast with her parents, idly stirring her cereal as the morning sunlight streamed through the kitchen window. Suddenly, her phone buzzed on the table, lighting up with a notification from Seoyeon. She glanced at the screen.
Yooyeon's Phone
Seoyeon (just friends)
S : Wanna take my passenger seat?
S : (insert picture of Seoyeon selca in a car)
Yooyeon nearly choked on her toast when she glanced at Seoyeon's message, her eyes widening as she reread the words. She quickly reached for her water, trying to keep her reaction subtle, but her parents gave her a curious look.
'You okay, Yooyeon?', her mum asked, Yooyeon reaching for the water.
She slowly drank the water then replied, 'It was just hot, mum.'
'I told you, don't rush when eating. Chew slowly.' her mum said, continuing her conversation with her husband.
Yooyeon quickly snapped a picture of her dad at the dinner table, capturing his mid-bite expression. Suppressing a grin, she returned to her phone, sending the photo to Seoyeon before typing a response.
