Long Drive

We didn't have much of a plan

but we were going down the coast

Carlights would sweep by in yellows and reds

and blues

While we chainsmoked and listened to

We stopped in Portland, Port Angeles and La Push

We camped on La Push Beach

We ran from our campsite

into the night

We were restless

He was drunk and I was high

and we were laughing

We climbed huge rocks

on the ocean side

and ran through cold waves

as they rolled in
