Despair yawns like a chasm wide,
A gaping hole where dreams have died.
I teeter on the edge of pain,
In every heartbeat, I feel the strain.
I search for hope to bridge the gap,
To find the light within the trap.
Yet as I reach, I stumble and sway,
Caught in the darkness that holds sway.
