MIKAELSON MANSION

Zara grabs a bottle of water out of the fridge when her phone rings, she answers it.

Zara: My love?

Elena: Are you okay? How are you doing?

Zara: I miss you.

Elena: I miss you too. I'll be back before you know it, okay?

Zara: Okay

Elena: Look, it's a good thing Elliot's locked up in our house right now cause Damon's missing. I thought he was just taking a walk, but then when we went to the beach, we saw signs of a struggle.

Zara: Meaning what?

Elena: Meaning somebody probably jumped him and then grabbed him.

Zara: That Shane could have taken him.

Elena: He's not strong enough to take Damon on, even with the element of surprise. He must have someone, or at least a few someones helping him.

Zara: I'm so sorry. I wish I was there to help.

Elena: You're safer where you're at. I'll be home soon.

Zara nods her head, running her hand through her hair

Zara: I love you

Elena: I love you too, sweet girl.

GILBERT HOUSE

Caroline and Zara walk into the house. Caroline has a laptop in her hands while Zara has the sword wrapped in a blanket. Klaus is sitting on the coffee table and Elliot has his legs dangled over the side of a chair

Klaus: Well if it isn't our little sister. Come to show how laughably idiotic you are against me?

Zara narrows her eyes glaring at him. Elliot snickers in amusement

Zara: I know I'm smarter then you and we all know it

Elliot: I know it

Caroline: So do I

Klaus: Ha ha ha, funny

Zara unwraps the leather on the top of the sword, revealing some sort of turning device.

Klaus: What do you think this is

Caroline: It's called a cryptex.

Zara looks at her

Caroline: I've seen The da Vinci Code. You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side.

Elliot: Oh so lame the hair of Tom in that movie.

Caroline: And with the magic of the internet, Elena sent over these.

She holds up print-outs of Jeremy's tattoo.] So now all we have to do is cryptex away. If you happened to want to help, we wouldn't stop you.

Klaus: Well, might I suggest using the magic of the internet to purchase an Aramaic-to-English dictionary from your nearest retailer.

Caroline: What's Aramaic?

Zara: It's a dead language. It hasn't been used since, like, biblical times.

Elliot: Qetsiyah's native tongue, I'm guessing. You know, even if you had the best dictionary in the world, it could take days to translate.

Klaus: Perhaps weeks.

Elliot: "In bas so-teen-too ara-ma-eet."

Caroline: What does that mean?

Zara: "If only you spoke Aramaic, darling."

LATER

Caroline has the pictures of Jeremy's tattoo and index cards of the Aramaic symbols lying on the table. She has her computer open and is sitting with Zara

Caroline: Okay, this is it. We've translated all the symbols on the tattoo. [she reads the translation] "Passage inside...requires a young senator, and a pretty flower."

Elliot: Oh for the love of God, how blonde are you?

Caroline looks up at him and glares

Elliot: Zara, bring me the sword.

Zara grabs the sword and stands up walking up to the barrier, she hands the sword over the barrier into Elliot's hands.

Elliot: Silas rests on the far side, the means of his destruction at hand."

Klaus glances at the pictures of Jeremy's tattoo on the computer screen

Klaus: Turn the cryptex to the right.

Elliot turns the sword to the right

Klaus: Stop. The top of the hilt reveals a key to a nautical map. Turn it to the left.

Elliot: Oh shut up

Klaus: Now turn the other piece. There's something else.

Elliot: (speaks Aramaic.]

Caroline: What does it mean? Zara, what does it mean?

Zara: There's only one dose of the cure, Care Bear.

She leaves heading out onto the porch, Caroline sighs following her out.

Elliot: Two girls? Who knew our sister had it in her?

Klaus: I was never expecting that and I am smarter then the average bear.

PORCH

Zara and Caroline are sitting in the swing, Zara is nuzzled up to her side. Caroline's arm is wrapped around her.

Caroline: We all want the cure

Zara: Do you?

Caroline: It doesn't matter. There's only one, so it's not like I'm gonna get it anyway.

Zara: I happen to like who you are now. You're strong, ageless, fearless.

Caroline looks down to her and smiles.

Caroline: You don't have to stay here, you know? You can head home.

Zara: Will you stop by later?

Caroline: Sure.

They stand up and Caroline cups her face in her hands tilting her head down kissing her on the forehead

Caroline: See you later

Zara: Okay

She turns and walks away from the house
