Tory pulled on their long black boots and grabbed their bag, then walked to the front door of their house. It was a Wednesday morning; time to head to school. They opened their door and immediately jumped as their shorter, rather odd friend Corey stood right at the door, staring at them with his bright blue eyes and smiling.

"JESUS- uh, hey, Corey.. How long have you been stood here?" Tory nervously questioned, looking down at Corey, who just smiled wider and laughed.

"Oh, only like.. ten minutes? I wanted to pick you up! Thought it would be fun to walk together." He responded after a moment of giggling.

"Uhh... Sure, I guess.." Tory said in a concerned tone, looking at Corey for a moment before walking past him, Corey following behind them. He was still smiling unnervingly, but that was normal for him. He's always been a bit weird. After a couple moments of awkward silence, Corey looked up into Tory's greyish-blue eyes and began to start a conversation.

"Soooo.. What's up?" He nonchalantly asked, pushing some of his messy black hair out his face.

"Not much, I guess." Tory replied, looking down at their shorter friend, "And, uh.. You?"

"The usual." He stated, although to be honest, Tory wasn't really sure what 'the usual' was for someone like him.

They just sort of walked for a bit in silence after that, there wasn't much to talk about and Tory was used to walking to school alone. Walking with someone isn't something they usually do. A few minutes passed and Corey opened his mouth to speak, looking at Tory, but as he went to talk he walked right into someone else who was walking.

Max, a guy who some people said was 'somehow weirder than Corey'.

"Hey, watch where you're going, weirdo! You don't wanna mess with me.." Max growled, getting a weird and mildly annoyed look from Corey. He rolled his eyes and backed away from Max.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to." He half-heartedly apologised, looking to Tory and shaking his head, as if to say 'what's up with this guy?'.

"Yeah, you better be sorry-" Max started before getting cut off by Tory.

"Okay, how about we just calm down?.." They interrupted, trying to de-escalate the situation, "Corey apologised, he didn't mean to, no need to keep on.. Uh.. What's your name again?"

"..Max." He mumbled begrudgingly, crossing his arms.

"Okay! Max. As he said, Corey didn't mean to bump into you, so.. How about you just calm down?" They politely suggested. In response, Max just shrugged and rolled his eyes. "...Sure. Whatever, fine."

There was an awkward moment of silence before Corey spoke up. "Alright... Now that's sorted, let's just keep walking. Come on, Tory!" He then began to walk ahead, but stopped momentarily and looked at Max. "And, uh.. I guess you can join."

Tory began to follow Corey, glancing back and being surprised to see Max begin to follow as well.

"What? Not like I have anything better to do. Just hurry it up." He said, upon noticing Tory's confused look. They just nodded and looked to Corey, who shrugged his shoulders and continued walking.

"Sure, lets go."
