●Kartik's POV●

This world is filled with demons, and no one can escape them. The only way to be safe and unquestionable is to become one of them. So, I chose to be one.

It's easy this way to survive in this complex and greedy world. Especially when you're the strongest demon alive. The most feared, ruthless, relentless, and brute mafia ever. Whatever words you can use for someone heartless like me, you should. Many people had witnessed my brutality, and Sanvi is supposed to be one of them. Poor soul.

She doesn't know what she had been pulled into. A marriage with a beast who rules the sins. Poor woman. She's going to regret what she can't be blamed for. She's going to regret having Sikha as her sister.

After all, someone needs to reap the crops of hatred that bitch has sown in my heart.

"You'll definitely look stunning in this one," Maa stated in front of Papa, who seemed doubtful on her statement.

"Whatever he wears don't matter, because his behavior will ruin it in the end," he noted with sarcasm.

I just simply rolled my eyes, throwing away his indication towards my indifferent behavior. I don't need to change my behavior because it's perfect for me. And also, why the hell would I? For this filthy world? Nah, that's utterly ridiculous.

"Can I wear this in the evening?" My sister, Amaya, asked with a courteous tone, holding out her favorite pink lehenga.

"Sure, you can," my mother allowed her with a loving smile, to which Amaya reacted with an excited squeal.

"I can't wait to meet my sister-in-law!" She ran away upstairs with enthusiasm, as if it's her engagement tonight.

Yeah, everyone is rejuvenated about my engagement, except me. Everyone was preparing for the event while I was just romaing nonchalantly. Why should I care? What's so special about that woman for which I should be exhilarated?

Nothing. And anyway, darkness doesn't give sight of anything. It's just black and black.

"Hey! Give my outfit back, you idiot!" Here comes another pair of annoying brats, my cousins, Keshavi and Trisha.

Trisha was running after Keshavi yelling out all the hell because Keshavi has stolen her outfit. "I'm not feeling like giving it back."

"Give it, or else I'll kill you!"

"You can't!"

"Keshavi, give her outfit back to her," my aunt ordered her, and reluctantly, Keshavi handed Trisha her outfit back.

I shook my head with annoyance and walked away, up to my room. My family is full of annoying buds. It was better when they were away from my mansion.

Once this wedding is over, everything will turn normal again. They'll leave this house, and my dearest place will be mine again.

Solace is the best way to get peace. And peace is the best medicine for heart. And whoever tried to interrupt in my comfort place, in my peace, they've regretted it very badly. And Sanvi is going to regret the same way.

In the end, darkness is the only thing you get. Darkness chases after you until you're it's prey. When it caughts you, it dines upon your heart and is left with nothing more than a hollow body. It's just a sculpture of flesh.
