Third person POV

A ripple of cheers and applause took up the space in the large hall as soon as the couple slid the engagement rings in each other's fingers. The family members smiled, witnessing the scenic view. The beauty of the moment wasn't photogenic, so Anushka was trying her best to commit it all to her memory.

Darkness indeed is what Kartik lets in his heart, but Anushka always had a certain place in his heart where darkness can't roam about. Even when the world refused to accept him, she loved him all through it.

From being abound with light and life to veiling himself whole with darkness, Anushka had seen all his ups and downs. Even now, she can sense his suffocation diffusing with his anger, and that is what filling her eyes with encaged tears of pity for Sanvi.

Without being the reason for any of that, she still is held up as the offender to be executed. It would not have bothered Anushka much only if she knew she could be there to save her. But the reality was the polar opposite.

Despite all this, yet the bond between Anushka and Kartik is so exorbitantly incomparable. Maybe it is Anushka's eager acceptance that had refrained him from ending his life, just as he did when he was hardly ten-year-old.

" Hey! Get off your hands! " Trisha was struggling to jerk away Amaya, the overjoyed bean.

" Why? Couldn't I hug my favorite person? " Amaya lets her go and asks with the best puppy eyes, earning a glare from Trisha.

Trisha and Kartik have always been on the same boat. Both had suffered more than anyone Anushka knew.

" You can, but someone of your status, " she glanced at Suman, who tensed up at the indication with shame and guilt.

Trisha has a more twisted and complex mind than Kartik. She always did. Turning and ending things in her way is her master art. She can and she will play dirtiest wherever possible. If not possible, she makes it possible for matters concerning her or Kartik either. They both have grown up with the same art stuffed within them.

Squelch with pain, whoever is a hindrance, has always been their utmost belief. They are molded as the devil undercover with all your desires stitched as their façades.

For Sanvi, she herself was too naive to understand even a bit of their complexity. Right now, she was smashed with the tornado of conflicting emotions within her. The view of the engagement ring was plastered on her hazel brown orbs as she stared down at it.

Entoiled with her desire to escape this marriage and a familiar sense with Kartik, she could feel her freedom being torn apart. But as much she knows, it makes her feel entomoid under his predatory hawk gaze. She never thought she would be this much enticed to freedom to the extent of feeling incarcerated right now.

" Bhabhi! " Taken aback was Sanvi when out of nowhere Amaya hugged her.

(Sister-in-law)

" Amaya, " Keshavi glared at her, noticing the slight flinch of Sanvi.

Kartik shook his head in annoyance. His own sister was a pissing brat for him unless it was Trisha. Amaya giggled nervously, and her eyes gleamed with a sudden exhilaration.

" I'm Amaya, Kartik bhai's little sister, " she introduced herself to Sanvi, to which she responded with a polite smile.

" So-called little sister, " Kartik corrected her with an emotionless face.
