Polaris (Astronomy): Derived from Latin stella polaris, meaning "pole star". This is the proper Latin name of the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Minor, commonly called the North Star or Pole Star. It is borne by a character (real name Lorna Dane) in Marvel's X-Men line of comics, created in 1968.

Elros (Literature): Means "glitter of stars" or "foam of stars" from Sindarin êl "star" and ros, which can mean "polished metal, glitter" or "foam, rain, dew, spray (of fall or fountain)". It belonged to the brother of Elrond and first king of Númenor in J. R. R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings' (1954).

Adalrun (Old High German): Derived from Old High German adal "noble" and runa "secret lore, rune". This was used for a character in a minor German opera, De Kaisertochter (The Emperor's Daughter; 1885) by Willem de Haan.
