Chapter 16

Kate's POV

Justin parked infront of the hospital's enterance. I rushed out of the car running in full speed until I reached the front desk
"How can I help you?" the woman standing behind the desk asked me
"My boyfriend...Zayn Malik was hit by a car and they told me they brought him here" I explained rappidly
"Well let me see..." she said checking her computer
"Zayn Malik is still in surgery. Please go take a seat in the waiting room infront of surgery room 3. It's down the hallway darling" She said smiling
I thanked her and started walking to the waiting room.
I took a seat on one of the chairs with my head in my hands and started sobbing quietly.
This is all my fault. I'm the reason he's hurt. I'm so fucking stupid. Why didn't I push harry off of me? Why did I let him kiss me? I could never imagine Harry having feelings for me. Ever. What happened was so wrong. Did he even think about Zayn?
I felt Justin sitting beside me. I just hugged him and started sobbing aganist his chest soaking his shirt wet with my tears. I don't think he cares anyway and neither do I. Justin has always been kind to me and he never leaves me when I need him he's like my brother...He really cares about me and I do care about him too.
"This is all my fault Justin...He's here because of me!" I sobbed
"Shshshshsh baby girl...It's not anyone's fault okay. He just wasn't thinking...he got shocked of what happened and he didn't think of anything while running" Justin whispered in my ear
"Everything's gonna be alright. He'll be alright" I just nodded silently trying to believe these words...

We've been waiting here for like four hours and nobody came out of the room and we still don't know how he's doing.
We waited for another half an hour and then a doctor came out of the surgery room.
"Excuse me doctor..." I rushed towards the doctor
"I'm his girlfriend. How's he?" I asked rapidly
"He has a broken leg and some wonds here and there nothing serious. He has to stay here for a few days to make sure he's in complete health. I'll be checking on him every 4 hours and see how he is and I'll tell you the details. They are gonna take him to his room now and only one person can stay with him." The doctor said
"Thank you so much doctor" I said
"You're welcome darling. You said you're his girlfriend...then you must be Kate" he said
"Yeah I am" I answered him confused
"When he arrived...All he was saying was Kate Kate Kate. He really loves you darling" he said smiling and walked away
He was calling my name? Even when he's upset with me. Oh Zayn...
"Justin...The doctor said only one person can stay with him. You go home and reassure everyone that he's ok and tell mum and dad I'm staying over" I said
"Are you sure about this?" he asked worried
"Don't worry...I'll be okay"
"Okay then...Be strong Kate for him...He needs you. Bye" he said hugging me
"I will. Bye" I said kissing him on the cheek and then he walked away
A few minutes later the door opened with two nurses pushing Zayn on the wheeled hospital bed.
His face was full of scars and he was sleeping.
I followed them to the room he'll be staying in. They told me to wait outside for a few minutes so they can set him down on his bed and check on him.
A nurse walked out of the room.
"You can go in now. He'll wake up in two hours or so and please if anything happened press the red button on the wall and when he wakes up don't make him talk alot and if you need anything just tell me" She explained a few more things then I thanked her and she left.
I walked in and took a seat on the chair next to his bed side.
I took his hand in mine and started to caress it slowly. I looked up to his face that was full of scars. I started caressing his hair softly.
"I'm so sorry for what you saw earlier baby" I whispered. A tear running down my cheek

Two hours passed and I was still beside him admiring his beautiful features and praying to Allah he wakes up so we can work things out.
Fifteen minutes passed and he still didn't wake up.

He opened his eyes slowly.
"Zayn!Baby...Thank god" I said kissing his hand. He pulled his hand away from me.
"W-What are you doing here? why aren't you with him? You still dare to come to me after what happened?" he whispered-Yelled
"Zayn please...Let me explai-"
"Explain what Kate...Everything is clear to me" he cut me off
"Just please listen to me. I can explain" I cried
"Well...go on" he said
"I will. Just please don't talk much. The nurse said it can do you wrong" I said and he nodded weakly waiting for me to speak
"I-I was in the kitchen and Harry walked in...He told me that he couldn't take it anymore and that he has feelings for me" I paused "He said that there's only one way to be sure about his feelings...And then he kissed me. I stood there frozen and I didn't know what to do. I know I should've pushed him away but I couldn't...I was shocked...I-I was afraid to hurt his feelings. And then you walked in. I swear I didn't kiss him back...I love you Zayn. Only you. I'm so sorry. It's my fault you're here. It's all my f-fault" I couldn't hold my tears in anymore I started sobbing and I was just shivering.
"Shshshsh come here" he whispered and pulled me closer rubbing my back.
"I believe you Kate. It's okay...don't cry please" he whispered "And none of this is your fault. It's my fault. I was just running in the street carless so I got hit" He whispered
I wiped my tears.
"Thank you for listening Zayn" I said
He smiled at me weakly and then started frowning. He looked like he's in pain.
"Zayn are you alright?" I asked him
"Y-yeah don't worry...It's just my leg. It kinda hurts" he said
"baby I'm so sorry" I said kissing his forehead "Have some sleep you're probably tired" I said caressing his hair
He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
My phone started ringing so I got up and got out of the room to answer. It's Liam.
"Hi liam"
"Hi Kate. How's he?" he asked
"He's alright...He has some scars and wonds and his left leg is broken" I explained
"Thank god he's alright we've been worried sick. Did he wake up?"
"Don't worry Liam he woke up a few minutes ago and he talked to me for a while and now he's asleep" I said
"Kate do you need me to come?" He asked
"No Liam I'm fine. Just let the girls pack some clothes for me and you guys pack something for Zayn. We'll be staying here for a few days. And please reassure my parents" I said
"Will do. Bye Kate"
"Bye" I said hangin up

I got back in the room and desided to rest my eyes for a bit.

I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door. I rubbed my eyes and said a simple "come in". It was Liam with two handbags probably full of clothes.
"Hey Liam" I said hugging him
"Hi Kate" he said and we both took a seat on the sofa
"I brought you guys some clothes" he said
"Thank you so much" He nodded
"You look so tired Kate why don't you go home and I'll stay" He offered
"No I'm staying. I'm fine" I answered him
"As you like"

"Hi" We heard Zayn's weak voice from across the room
"Hey mate. How you feelin?" Liam asked smiling and sitting on the chair next to him
"Well...My leg hurts but I'm fine" he answered smiling
I walked towards them and stood beside Liam.
"Well I guess I should leave you to rest. And Kate when you need anything just call me" he said and I nodded
"Thank you so much for coming Liam" Zayn said
"No need...That's why I'm here" he winked and left the room
"Kate?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm booored" he said
"Let's watch some TV then" I said picking up the remote and turning on the TV.
I was switching from a channel to another trying to find a movie or a show to watch.

We watched TV for a while and then the doctor came to check on him And then we both fell asleep.
