Texan Suburbs

We grew up in mediocre texan suburbs
right on the same street
We lived with our grandparents
and our uncle would drink
And it's not like momma wasn't around
but daddy definitely wasn't
We saw him maybe once or twice every couple of months
'cause he chose dugs over us
And to us life was the best it could ever be
but as we got older we were scared of all the screams
We cried for help
but without knowing we lost everything
But darling, now, don't you dare
don't call yourself weak
