Kenric's POV:
Papers. It was all papers.
Lists and files and photos and things, all cluttered on the floor.
Then Kenric spotted a little poster hanging in the far wall.
The Matchmaking System.
What did the Neverseen have against the matchmaking system?
Another poster, this one read a single word.
Talentless.
The last one read Banned Abilities.
"What-" Kenric said softly, "-what is this?"
Eryk gave him a look of disdain.
"I-Is this the Neverseen's plans? Is this their goal? Might I remind you, I'm not entirely sure how what the Neverseen does." Kenric said.
Eryk growled in annoyance. "This room contains the purposes of the Neverseen. The goals, the dreams of all our members. The ones on the wall are Fintan's greatest ambitions."
"The ones on the wall? You mean, the posters reading, The Matchmaking System, Talentless, and Banned Abilities?" Kenric said.
"I don't see any other ones on the wall." Eryk snarks.
"Well why does Fintan encourage that so much? Even as a Councillor, I think all of those systems are corrupt."
Eryk laughs, "Are you serious? You really think Fintan encourages that? Those things are the main reasons that Fintan leads the Neverseen! We're the only elves in the entire world who realized how messed up our species is."
Kenric doesn't say anything, thinking about how similarily he and Fintan thought.
It's a little scary. To be thinking the same way as a psychopath.
"Anyways," Eryk continues, "That's why Fintan made me bring you here. He expected you to agree with him."
He eyed Eryk, looking for any mocking tone or some sort of lie.
"And?" He said expectantly.
"Oh I don't know. Fintan still has to tell me what to do next. They barely tell me anything because they think I'll betray them someday." Eryk says nonchalantly.
He raises his eyebrows at Eryk, laughing internally.
He is quite funny even without trying to be.
"Well, do you have any idea of what they might do next?" Kenric asks, a little bit of hope in his voice.
Eryk shakes his head and starts walking away. "Honestly, Fintan might just come down here again and use you to taunt the rest of the Councillors. They're in chaos right now."
"Ah yes. My fellow colleages."
Oralie.
It wasn't until she was gone that he fully realized how much he loved her.
Golden hair that shined in the sunset.
Azure eyes as deep as the sea, something you could get lost in.
The gentleness of her touch, as light as a feather.
The faint pinkness in her cheeks, matching his favorite color.
"-Kenric." A voice said, stern and annoyed. "Seriously, did you knock your head or something? You keep dazing and your eyes start getting watery- or glassy. Do you need some Youth?"
