Kenric's POV:
"Hey- wake up." A voice said softly.
Kenric groaned softly, feeling sore and tired.
"Hurry. Your blood is drying out." The voice said again.
Kenric's lips were dry and his entire body felt like a fever dream.
A weird, metallic taste lingered in his mouth, and his nose felt broken.
Then he could feel his body being dragged across the floor.
Black and white.
The world was gray.
Then it was green. Light blinded him. Voices echoed around him.
His body felt wet and cold, but he was sweating from being so hot.
It felt like he was having a fever dream. In and out of consciousness, confused and dazed.
"Swallow this." A voice said, and he obeyed.
A cool liquid went down his throat, burning his tongue slightly. But within the second, his entire mind jerked awake.
His senses were heightened and his breathing was hyper fast. Kenric's vision was clear and sharp.
Green trees, green grass, and green bushes surrounded him. But there was something different about the trees.
Each of them were different. Different petals, flowers, things growing on them.
Then he realized.
They were in the Wanderling Woods.
"W-What? What are we doing here?" Kenric stuttered, looking around.
A cloaked figure came up behind him.
"Just wait. You'll see soon enough." The voice said, sounding like Eryk.
"Eryk? Is that you?"
"Yes. Quiet down." He replied, his voice shaky. Kenric wondered why.
"Why do you have your hood up?"
"Stop asking questions, Kenric. You'll see soon." Eryk snapped, the shakiness in his voice still there.
They both waited in silence, and Kenric could sense uneasiness coming from Eryk.
A loud vibration came from far away, causing Eryk to start moving.
"Come on Kenric. We need to go. Quick." Eryk yanked Kenric by his sleeve and they started running.
He glanced down at Kenric, his face barely visible. "Just wanted to let you know, I'm sorry for this."
"For what?"
Then he felt Eryk's boot connect to his face, and he finaly noticed the hot, sticky, red liquid dripping down his chin.
---
"Kenric didn't deserve this. I wish it were me." A voice said, echoing throughout the trees.
The Wandering Woods. People talking about him. Was it a funeral? Why were they here?
His head throbbed, but Kenric was used to it by now. He sat next to Eryk and- Fintan?! He noticed a dozen more cloaked figures surrounding them.
"U-Um. Hello, everyone. I don't really know what to say but there's so much to say." A sweet voice echoed.
Oralie.
It was her, she was here.
She was so close, yet so far away.
