It was late afternoon. I was at a skate park with Rory, she and I positioned our skateboards at the edge of the skate park.

Rory cracks her neck "Ready Brainiac?" She says with determination "I was born ready Roy" I say with even more determination.

"Remember, if you fall, you'll buy me a snack." She says "I'm not going down. But I'll buy you lunch anyway" I say "That's my boy" she smiles.

"Okay. On three, one, two..." She counts "Three!" I say and we We launched ourselves off the edge, boards rolling beneath us. The wind whipped past as we hit the ramp, adrenaline coursing through our veins.

Rory soars higher, executing a perfect ollie while I mirror her movement, feeling the thrill of flying alongside her. We land smoothly, the sound of our wheels connecting with the pavement echoing in the late afternoon air.

"Nice one!" I shout, exhilarated "Let's keep this going!" Rory replies, her eyes sparkling with excitement. We skate side by side, weaving through the park, catching the rhythm of the moment.

As we approach the next ramp, we both launch off, flipping our boards at the peak and landing perfectly together.

"Not bad for a newbie!" she laughs, pushing off again.

"Look who you're talking to girl!" I reply, determined to match her energy.

We headed down another lane, dodging steps and railings. "Tell me, are you over the blondie yet?" Rory asked, picking up momentum on her skateboard.

"Not even close. The worst part is that I think she likes me too." I say, picking up momentum on my skateboard and approaching her. "Why do you think that?" She asks.

"She's been acting weird around me, she blushes almost every time I talk or even look at her..." I can't help but smile at the memory of her beautiful pink cheeks and the sparkle in her eyes looking at me. It's extremely adorable.

"That's awesome man!" Rory smiles, I jump up a step spinning the skateboard in the air "No it's not. She shouldn't feel that way about me, nor should I about her" I sigh. Rory groans.

" I still don't understand you, man. Okay, you're her mentor, I get it, but come on. Just ask her out." Rory walks under a railing.

"Rory, it's not that simple," I reply, gliding beside her. "There are so many reasons why it could go wrong."

She raises an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Like what?"

I take a deep breath and list my worries. "One, she's my student; it could mess things up in her training. Two, Mr Davenport don't approve it and already warned me about it. Three, I don't want to ruin our friendship. Four, I have no idea how to even ask. Five, I'm just not ready for all that."

Rory shakes her head, still rolling. "Dude, you're overthinking it. You need to just go for it."

I roll my eyes, trying to focus on the thrill of skating. "Maybe, but it feels risky." I say "Life's all about taking risks! Plus, you'll regret it if you don't try," she says, pushing off harder.

"Yeah, but what if I fail?" I say, keeping pace with her. "Then you buy me a snack and we laugh about it later," she grins, clearly enjoying this conversation. I can't help but chuckle.

"But you're not gonna fail, After all there's always the option of you having a secret relationship with her" Rory says, I stop by the edge of a ramp "What?"

Rory skates to a stop next to me, grinning mischievously. "You know, keep it on the down-low. It could be exciting!" She giggles.

I shake my head, trying to process her idea. "A secret relationship? That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Plus, how would I even manage that? Sneaking around? It's so complicated."
