Jackie fiddled with the book in front of him, moving it to the edge of the table and pushing it back against the edge so it was flush.

"So uh, how'd you meet Chase?" He asked quietly, refusing to look up at Anti, who sat across from him.

He could tell Anti was leaning back against the chair, lazily twirling a pencil in between his fingers. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw him shrug.

"Just worked out that way, I guess."

He even SOUNDED like Chase.

"It just worked out that you, a perfect doppelganger of Chase, down to the scar, just kind of FOUND him?" Jackie asked, skeptical.

"Well," Anti sounded slightly unprepared, a grin sneaking onto his face, pulling at his lips and exposing his sharp teeth. "No. It was a bit different than that, but it's a long story, and if Chase hasn't talked to you about it, then I guess he just doesn't want you to know."

Jackie glared down at the table, his fingers gripping the book tightly. "I'm sure that's not the case."

Anti shrugged again.

"Did you get the scar the same way Chase did, then?"

"Uh. Yeah, I guess so."

"How did you get yours?" Jackie thought that maybe asking about Anti directly would be enough to get him talking, instead of asking about Chase.

"I copied it," Anti muttered, sounding mildly distracted.

"Off of what? Wait, what do you mean?" Jackie asked, feeling urgent.

"Oh, I didn't mean to actually say that. I dunno, it just kinda appeared," Anti said, his voice as calm as ever.

There really was something about Anti that Jackie just didn't like, and he was going to get to the bottom of it, even if it meant drilling answers out of Chase. He was going to do everything he could to figure out what Anti was, even if it killed him.

Which was, y'know, unlikely.
