They were mad at him again, the doctors. They didn't know that Anti was the one who had messed with the camera, they just assumed it was Chase. Gentle, harmless Chase. Always trouble, they said. A mental case, they said. Always to his face, too.
Which is why Anti always pushed Chase to the back of his mind when this happened, so he would have no idea what they thought of him.
Hopefully Chase was lost deep in a memory of a cornfield, poking fun of a scarecrow that had scared his daughter so it wouldn't seem so scary anymore.
Funny, Anti thought. In this moment he felt like he was the one making fun of the scarecrow, of the doctors.
Anti waited until they dragged him out into the hall, pulling him inside Chase's body to solitary confinement. His plan was to attack, kill everyone that wasn't Chase. But then he faltered. And all he could think of was how doing that would ruin Chase even more. They had already given him a scarred neck, what was next?
And then the door slammed shut, and Anti backed away into Chase's mind, letting him face the consequences of Anti's choices. And he regretted it.
